Thanks for this video!! 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3: I just finished replacing my sensor 10 min ago, and this video is what really helped! The only problem I had was fishing out the filter. I used a flat head screwdriver to finally get it out. Auto shop was going to charge $150 to replace bringing my own part, the lowest I found, so it only cost me $37 (Dorman sensor on amazon) doing it myself thanks to this video. I appreciate your help!! Thank you so much for going through all that trouble and posting this. I spent about 2 hours trying to figure out how to remove that, and I finally gave up and just reconnected the hoses I had removed. I was able to get that gray clip up, but I didn't know you had to then press on that same part (I was trying to squeeze together the two blue plastic pieces, to no avail). You have saved me from removing the entire intake to get to it!
@RR-gm7bw9 ай бұрын
Even after this great video, it still took me over an hour to get it off! For anybody struggling, try pushing the connector down hard before squeezing. I had to keep wiggling it up and down (not side to side) before I finally got it to release. Thanks for the great video!

This is absolutely the best way to do this job, all you need is the socket, a small elbow swivel and that extension! Of course a simple wretchet or breaker bar. But this is the easiest and most simple way you don’t have to go buy all them fancy tools like on all the others videos.
@karnellvickers87124 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the update. I'm not a "mechanic" but I try to do my own stuff. I had the tools except the special socket. So it was $9 and $7 for the filter which was also great to know. GOT THE JOB DONE IN 45 MIN. BTW they told me it was a 4 hour job. Lol what a RIP. Thank you for your video.

Thanks for the video, you got way better angles than anyone else. Tip for those with larger hands, I struggled for 3 hours trying to press the release in after getting the safety clip up, it's so tight my hand just couldn't move. I finally got it left handed with my thumb and pointer finger closest to the ground, the angles in that orientation were way better and it only took one try that way and it came off easy

@Thelatemodeltech - thank you for the video. I went ahead and tried the replacement on my 2008 Tahoe LTZ. The engine seems a little more set back than your rig than my Tahoe which required a hood removal. I was able to get the job done. The only hitch I ran into was using the EVERCRAFT brand socket from Napa. As the sensor was loosened the top of the socket didn't have enough clearance to extract the tool and sensor. I chamfered the top of the socket and that made the job successful. Your time in putting these videos is greatly appreciated.
@markdawson41293 жыл бұрын
For the next DIYer - suggest that after you install sensor, take note of sensor clip 'nub' position - this will help you orient the sensor harness in the right direction to clip on.

Just wanted to say thank you Late Model Tech for your three videos. I would have never been able to change the sensor and filter without your videos. Sitting in the engine bay worked, I did break the clip trying to get the connector off, and it took many tries to thread the filter to get it out. Successful job but my hand hurts; it did take me much longer than you but you have a lot more experience. Hopefully you got a little commission from my Amazon order using your links. The sensor on my 2009 5.3L Tahoe was ACDelco Part# 12673134.

Quick question...so I recently had my oil pressure on my 2011 Suburban peg to zero...ran a diagnostic and got the same codes as you had mentioned in your first video. I sent it in to my dealership...DAMN...mad expensive for replacing the switch. However, they also had listed to replace the switch connector. Do you think I would need to do that? Or would just replacing the switch fix my issue...your video is great help!
