Applying Dawn dish soap to the stain as shown, AND ALSO applying the Dawn to the inside of the fabric to "sandwich" the stain has been working well FOR ME.

I use dish detergent too, but I rub it in with a few drops of warm water to make sure the grease cutting chemicals get activated. Works like a charm.

I spray stains with Kroger's house brand knockoff of Spray & Wash. The Kroger stuff actually works better. Let it sit for a day or so and wash the garment. Like your method, it may take an extra go 'round. The worst mess it worked on was my good britches that got doused with dirty motor oil. The limit was the last 10% of UniBall pen ink from the pen's not being capped when I shoved it into my shirt pocket.

I think in that video I used Dawn... you want one that cuts grease, but be careful that you don't get one that has peroxide or bleach. Regular usually works fine.
