As an experienced detailer with shop background, its hard to find anything in terms of advanced clearcoat correcting methods. There are a lot of beginning videos but hard to find more advanced stuff. Keep the info coming man. Even after years of this, there is still a lot to learn and bad habits to unlearn. Great work buddy.

Cutting with sand paper and polishing is easier for people who are new at it, because with the sand paper method you can tell that the orange peel is off completely or not because of the dull surface, this method would be more difficult because it's polishing and cutting at the same time and you can't tell the depth of the clear. Plus a rotary polisher is for much more advance people

Using denim pad will not leave any scratch mark like sanding would... If u buff it really well after sanding it flat... The scratch mark will appear back after 3 to 4 month... Thats why i like to use the denim pad... But takes a lot of practice though...

Excellent video, very informative. I tried the Orsen denim pad and the Orsen Perfect 50 fast cut. The fast cut turned into a grey paste on the car. Didn't cut the orange peel, any suggestions? I prepared the pad with the fast cut just like the video.
@OSRENOfficial4 жыл бұрын
hey hawk, we will need more information to help you troubleshoot. Do run us through you process in details, including machine speed, hand speed and working time. If the orange peel doesn't get flatten, it means it is not levelled or not enough cutting is performed
@slphawk374 жыл бұрын
I prepared orsen denim 160mm pad just like you did with orsen perfect 50 fast cut compound. I applied some perfect 50 to the hood. Using a torq10fx I spread the compound at speed of 15, it began to get sticky, I increased speed to 30 then to 35. Compound then just stuck to paint as a grey mud. I had to teeter the pad to cut into the compound to break it up. It then flew around in grey soft chunks. I kept on with cutting. Repeated about 4 times then gave up. I noticed a very slight change in the paint reflection.
@OSRENOfficial4 жыл бұрын
@@slphawk37 We would recommend using the perfect 50 with a rotary polisher, the pad that you mentioned, it is made for rotary. It's thicker and using a dual action would not produce the same transfer of cutting power (cushioned by the thick foam) For dual action polisher levelling, we recommend nao leveler 56 with a thinner 6mm denim pad. The grey soft chunks are most likely the dried up polish abrasive with dirt infused (it happens). Check the latest video on leveling with a dual action polisher : kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJ-xaaJunsd8Zsk Oh btw, a tutorial video is coming up tonight

Can this process be done on the base coat, and clear coated after?
@OSRENOfficial2 жыл бұрын
On base coat, it's better to sand (provided it's 2k solid colour, not metallic paint) than to machine polish as it will produce more polishing dust with possibility of remnant oils from polisher that will hinder clear coat from bonding on base coat

Hey Faiz, we have a new product that's suitable for dual action levelling and it's one of our upcoming video as well. osren.com/product/professional-series/all/nao-leveler-56 After levelling, the usual (depending on paint) would be either NAO quick cut 48 or Nao compound 46 with wool to refine it. So, is the orange peel in the clear coat? I have a slight to medium amount of orange peel in my car and it stands out because it's black. I've been trying to correct the paint by compounding and polishing, but it's preventing me from getting that super high gloss end result. It looks a lot better than it did, but I can only make so much progress. I wondered if the orange peel was in the clear coat or the layer of paint beneath? Do you think it's ok to compound with the denim pad? (In not a beginner and have moderate experience.) I appreciate any help you can offer me. And thank you for the vid!
@OSRENOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Hey Tonyelle, levelling at the clear coat level is sufficient to produce an even reflection. What is beneath won't affect that much unless there are sanding marks or uneven putty marks that are painted over. Denim polishing has been around for more than 20 years in Asia countries, not just in Malaysia. We would also recommend trying out the new abrasive for levelling : kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJ-xaaJunsd8Zsk We have since updated our abrasive to a better formula

@OSRENOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Hey Tommy, respray by gun would definitely result in orange peel, the intensity can be reduced with the right settings and techniques. We are however not an expert in this, so best to consult an experienced painter on this. We can, however, comment on these observations: 1) Sinkage will take place and causes orange peel to worsen after curing. These will occur when the paint is drying anywhere from weeks to months. So best to level the paint after near full curing of the paint. We did briefing mention about sinkage on our blog: osren.com/blog/2022/03/02/orange-peel-levelling-risk-and-reward/ and it happens even to original factory paint cars 2) We have a newer video to tackle this approach, video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJ-xaaJunsd8Zsk After sanding or level, you will require to compound and/or polish to restore the shine.

+AMMO NYC have you seen this? Seems like something you should do a review on.

You expect Larry Kosilla to come here to watch this video? Or maybe Darren Priest from Auto Fetish Detail or Junkman2000 :D Well this is kinda different technique for them. From what I know, american don't use denim material for removing lite orange peel.

+Mohd Radhwan Denim pads have been around for years. They are faster but still don't level like sanding. Not good for custom work

@@danhenderson783 i agree..using good rubber block is the way to go imo...start with a small section and go through all the steps to get results you want then go over the entire car after inspecting each panels orange peel ...some panels may be much better or worse. not one comment here after 7 years of anyone that actually used this process...which pretty much says it all...

How well will this work on a single stage paint job?
@OSRENOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Hi Murrica, this works the same on single stage paint. The fundamental of it is to even out the surface to produce a more reflective surface. Downside of single stage paint is that the pad might get color transfer.
