Thank you Kim. I spent all morning trying to figure out why my ORECK upright bag would not stay in place & dust everywhere. Turns out I was missing the "Bag Dock". (not sure how that went missing) After searching ebay for the part I needed for an hour I went back to Kim's video. Lucky for me she had a linked video for the bag dock at her Vac MD store which is only a few miles from me. I drove over and Kim & Sara greeted me with the missing dock I needed. She was very kind and demonstrated installing it. Awesome ! I almost threw away a $500.00 Vacuum cleaner. Thank you so much Kim at Vac MD.

I have an Oreck XL that I bought in 2001. This video provided step by step instructions on how to replace the outer bag. I completed the job in 25 minutes from "get the vacuum cleaner and search for a KZbin video" to replacing the clip on the bottom which my new bag did not have. (It is literally 6 clips that you pry apart - I did it with my hands - and the clip pegs line up perfectly with the holes on the bottom of the bag). I also cleaned the whole vacuum cleaner with a paper towel and Windex in that 25 minutes. Thank you for the clear instructions. Also, make sure the dog helps out in all your videos. :-)

Thanks for the video I'm a new oreck owner and have an oreck xl and it is leaking dust behind the tube and outer bag doesn't really matter to me but can it be the outer bag not be placed on correctly

Very possible the outer bag is not on properly or the rubber seal is worn. More importantly, make sure the inner bag is attached correctly and you are using genuine bags. Generic bags tend to leak with Orecks.

@@kimberly.thomason thanks for the reply no I'm using HEPA bags from envirocare because of allergies so the paper bag is good also what I noticed the seal on the outer bag is ok I didn't push the outter back seal all the way past the lip I thought the lip blocked the outer bag as soon as I put the outter bag past the lip I heard a pop and it is sealed so now no dust back behind the pipe so it should be fixed now

I have a Hoover power pet swivel I think it’s called. Do you prefer putting a dryer sheet on top of the filter to help with the smell? I do clean my Hoover out regularly and it still tends to smell. Even with soaps.

Why is there a picture blocking the inserting of the bag at a crucial point of inserting the bag because that is what I wanted know? Do I go all the way to the end because there is something blocking it. Do I force it beyond that point?

I decided that if you would slide it too far beyond that point where it stops, it wouldn't fit into the Oreck suction part, so it wouldn't really go into the bag right.

My red Oreck U2000RB-1 only has a 'metal spring clip' to retain the outer fabric bag to the black plastic 'connector assembly' and therefore, the bags only rely on the very thin flexible bag membrane to stay attached to the 'connector assembly'. The bags ALWAYS become disconnected regardless of the care and attention given during their installation and end up blowing vacuumed debris directly into the outer fabric bag. Why doesn't my Oreck have the 'bag docking plastic hinge' that is in your Oreck vacuum? Was this hinge a 'follow on design fix' by Oreck to ensure the vacuum bag remains in place?

U2000 models are commercial units. They don't come with a bag dock because they keep them "simple." We sell these docks on our site if you still need one.

I have a oreck extended life Commercial vac, it keeps turning on and off. This is probably the 5th one. We have them at many janitorial accounts and it keeps happening. We have takin them apart and found nothing. Cord are in like new condition.

Cool. I have an XL2100RHS commercial model (blue color). It didn't come with a "bag doc". It sounds like i can add, replacing the simple metal clip mine current used to hold the outer bag to the tube? If i can add the bag doc does that mean i can also order special bags that fit the doc? I'm currently using simple standard bag #pk80009 (package of 9 bags) or #pk80025 (package of 25). I'd really like to get better selection than those bag part#s offer. For example, i wish i could could get hepa filter bags etc, or scented fragrance bags. Would i be able to order such bags if i add on this doc? Which bag part#s are compatible with the doc and where can i order the bag doc? It's not shown on ORECK website. Thanks!

If you have an XL21 you want to be VERY careful when removing it because the tabs break frequently. I usually use a flat head screwdriver and gently pry the lower bag holder apart. Hope this helps!
