Glad I've seen this done. Sooner or later I need to deal with my damaged bumper and removing it to take somewhere would be required. Thanks CF!

great video, and tutorial. I eagerly look forward to when you do one for the rear bumper.
@CarFanatic5 жыл бұрын
The rear bumper is easier. Just pop off the tail lights, undo the fasteners exposed with the engine cover open, then get a few screws under the rear wheel wells and lower portion of the bumper. No wheel liners to mess with nor. Lifting of the car.

The 997 totally deserves the aero front bumper. Makes it look a little more aggressive.

Isn't there another electric cable at the passenger side?

Nice vid Car Fanatic, but how did you re-install the bar you took off with coat hanger?
@CarFanatic5 жыл бұрын
You just reinsert it and can tap it back in with a hammer and a socket extension.

where did you get the front bumper lip that we see in the very beginning of the video? is that stock or an aftermarket peice?
@CarFanatic2 жыл бұрын
It's an oem lip from the 991. I picked it up from Suncoast I believe. I have a video on it.

i have been thinking about putting the aero kit on my 997.2 S I would be interest to know how you find the driving experience post the aero kit specifically the high sped stability
@CarFanatic5 жыл бұрын
No difference, but I don't have the full aero kit (lip and wing)

Hello. What kind of spoiler lip is this? and where can i buy it? Link?
@CarFanatic4 жыл бұрын
It's an aero kit bumper with the original lip from the GTS. It does not fit the regular 997 bumper unfortunately.

Do you find your headlights flush to the body right in front of the washer, or can you feel a gap with your finger?

hi there I was just about to remove the bumper to get it repainted and was looking forward to watching your generally really helpful videos - but on this one - removing and putting back the clips is impossible! how do you actually do that? thanks
@CarFanatic Жыл бұрын
Which clips?
@rowenlawrence1797 Жыл бұрын
@@CarFanatic thank you for your reply - mine is actually a gen 2 car just like yours - all the first steps are fine to remove the wheel housing and clips for light washer and side lights - even in the front tub behind the bumper that is fine - but the clips at the side - I just cant work that out - because you cant see them - so heaven forbid how on earth do you put them when putting the bumper back on? thank you

Hi, do you still have that stock 997.2 front bumper? What lip was on the stock bumper?
@CarFanatic4 жыл бұрын
That was the lip off the 991. I just screwed it out. I have another video on that if you check out my channel.

If you should feel an urge to spend more cash perhaps spend 20k on PCCB brakes while you only get back 1k when you eventually sell it.
@CarFanatic5 жыл бұрын
Ha no way. The stock brakes with track pads would be more than enough for what I'd ever do. Thanks for watching. Hope you are subscribed!

Car Fanatic yes- been following since I owned a 997.2 back in 2013. Now have had - 991.1 for years in San Diego. Cheers.

I opted for the PCCBs when I ordered my 06 S cab. At 126,000 plus miles and still on the factory installed pads all around. Pads have 7mm remaining-about 60% remaining.
