Hi PTC. Thanks for another informative tutorial. I have so many of your videos in mind when I am working in Photoshop and frequently have to rerun them to make sure I'm making best use of your advise. I was drawn to this video, not particularly due to the subject matter, but the fact that I was visiting Monteriggioni only three weeks ago and I recognised that restaurant ( we have eaten there on more than one occasion. Keep up the great work

I took a spectacular Oregon Sunset photo with my iPhone X. There were plenty of power lines and a power pole in the way. I am not done with it yet, but you deserve a great thank you!!!

Thank you for that most helpful and informative tutorial, Jesús. Regarding the image that you used to demonstrate your technique: Why does it have halos around all the edges? Appreciatively, Lórien
@PhotoshopTrainingChannel
@PhotoshopTrainingChannel 8 жыл бұрын
+Lórien Davy It was an image whose sky was pretty much white, and in camera RAW I brought it back but the side effect was that halo. It didn't matter since I wanted it only for the tutorial.

Very good tip. Well explained for noobs like me. Just a quick question: is it possible to do the same thing for a bigger fatter wires?
@PhotoshopTrainingChannel
@PhotoshopTrainingChannel 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah. But it becomes more difficult if the wires are really fat. The content aware may not look as seamless in areas with detail in the background.

I can´t reduce and increase my brush size as you tell every time. Is there something you have to tick to make this possible? Great video by the way
@ScotchMacaskill
@ScotchMacaskill 8 жыл бұрын
+Mr XY Not sure if this answers your question, but sometimes to get the square brackets to change brush size, I first have to hit the Escape key, then I can change brush size with square bracket keys.
@PhotoshopTrainingChannel
@PhotoshopTrainingChannel 8 жыл бұрын
+Mr XY Try pressing Escape key as +Scotch Macaskill mentioned but usually you don't have to. As soon as you select the tool you should be able to use the bracket keys [ or ] to increase or decrease the size of the brush
@mrxy94
@mrxy94 8 жыл бұрын

@PhotoshopTrainingChannel

+Mr XY It might be your specific laptop. I personally haven't seen that in the laptops I've used.

Everything worked for me up until CMD + H on MAC.. First it hide the window.. Then I figured out it's Shift + CMD + H .. but then it looked like the path diminished slightly but wouldn't erase the power line, tried increasing size of the spot healing brush and even diminished it.. but nothing. Any idea why? I did everything in beginning, from sample layers and rubber band and new layer and all. Thanks for vid to begin with.

Well, that did not work. No matter which method I used there was still a "vapor trail" left where the cable was in the best case. The worst case was a total botch job with the other four parallel cables. For those four when I attempted to remove one it was replaced by another in a really ugly way. I tried hand painting using my Wacom tablet and the clone stamp tool, your pen technique, healing brush tool all to no avail. I even tried to cut and paste adjacent areas near the cables, but the solid greys of the sky were subtly unmatchable and made matters worse. So I'm just going to have to go back to the site, climb the power pole where the cables are attached, cut all five cables and re-shoot the image.

Thank you for this video. The information you present is good and valuable. But at least for me, I feel your presentation style is to fast and jumpy. It would help me if you were slower and more careful in talking about the tools you are using and the steps you are taking. After all, if we were familiar with all of this we probably wouldn't be watching.
