2 things that probably make it a easier replacement. #1 unplug the fan connection that's in the way 2nd, grease or light oil on the o-ring before install , just the o-ring . Good video.

How do you take the wire plug end off ? Something with the red tabs ?

I am no mechanic but I literally just replaced mine on my 2008 2500 5.7L Hemi and it took me under 5 minutes from start to finish. Idk why you had so much trouble. 🤷🏻‍♂️
