Thanks for watching todays video, today I show you my BMW e90 335 sunroof which happened to blow up from the inside somehow while I was driving, so I decided to show you how to remove and replace the sunroof, DIY!

Thanks i have different problem but being able to take the window out will at least show me why my window is stuck in tilt . Not looking forward to a huge bill hoping i can figure it out

Bro those screws you took off are to adjust the sunroofs height, your supposed to level the sunroof so the glass is flat with the cars roof

Where did you get your sunroof? My sunroof popped while driving on the freeway. I have bmw 435i coupe and looking into doing it my self

I purchased mine off of eBay using the OEM part number

Thank you! If you lookup on KZbin “BMW sunroof shade repair E90” you can find lots of videos showing how to remove the sunshade, it can be removed once the glass is taken off you should see four clips holding it in place and it slides right up on top of your roof.

on Apr 16 2022, driving down the freeway and this same thing happened to me on my E82 135i. Out of nowhere, BOOM...followed by the sound of something metallic showering my car. I thought someone shot at me. I pull onto the shoulder and stepped out. My roof panel was blown-out, glass everywhere...thank God my shade was close or I would have been calling for an ambulance. Just imagine the shade open when the glass blew-out, I could have had an eye-full of glass shards. So, I have a used replacement panel in route. Morale of the story? I don't know. Maybe you should replace the panel at 10 yrs of age.

Happen to me today on my 09 nissan rogue. I thought somebody threw a rock at me. Loud bang startled me. But the tempered glass turned to tiny cracks on the whole sunroof glass but it did not break thank goodness. So I gorilla taped it and ordered a sunroof glass off ebay. I wasn't really upset just thought I go on youtube and see how others delt with it. So I feel better now. Seems this happens alot.

@@customer7575 My car is an 09 as well. Mine shattered into pieces. If yours didn't then it must be laminated as well as tempered.

do the interior dome light LED’s always flicker like that? i was gonna replace my dim yellow ones for the blue LEDs but not if they’re gonna be finicky :/

I think it depends, I recommended checking reviews before you buy because I didn’t do that and mine are always flickering so I’m going to be swapping them out. Also I would recommended keeping a yellow light there since the blue LEDs actually start to annoy your eyes when they are on

Mine is stuck like almost closed I opened it tonight first nice night in a while and I went to close it when I looked up after I parked it open like a inch or two still any ideas how to fix this ?

You have to resynchronize the sun roof, you could probably find a procedure and or tutorial online

My sunroof was closed. I talked to a friend who works at bmw and he said that this issue is more common than we think, the sunroofs sometimes just blow up due to something with temperature changes

How do i remove the sunroof if the car is at a junk yard & has no powerr to lift it up

If you open up the inside on the overhead where you usually use the button to open the sunroof once you remove that piece there should be a manual way to lift it
