Hey Stoner, Got a 113 in bad shape but ran for $50. Tried your method but still have a ways to go. Still have black spots and circles,More wet/dry cycles,lower grit,more pressure? Help!

Start over with 80 grit and work your way back up to 320. Let me know how it goes. Happy Woodworking.👍

Awesome!! Thanx for the info! I noticed the 2 holes in the table top, mine has 2 holes also but in different places. Can’t figure out whyyyyy they are there🤔. Do you know why? Tia!!
@StonerEricson Жыл бұрын
Yes they are holes to set a miter pins system that was proprietary to the saw

Great video, Bro!! I have that same saw and due to medical issues I have not been able to be in my shop in over a year, but now I am ready to spend a little time in there. My cast iron top is the color of old brown shoe leather. I have my work cut out.

I was hoping to see it from the very rusty start. I picked up a 9" Rockwell contractor saw last weekend with a very rusty top.

Great informative video!! Found out about 3 years ago that WD40 is a solvent, not lubricant. One thing different I use is emery cloth instead of sand paper so I will change to sandpaper instead. Thank you for the info!!

Greetings. Twenty-five years I inherited my father's table saw, which promptly got 'ruined'(or so I thought) by a leak directly above the table, causing massive rusting. I parked it in a corner, covered it, and forgot about it. Now I need a table saw for a project, so I went looking for a fix and found your video, tried your steps, got amazing results considering, but there are still some tiny rust pits remaining. The top feels smooth now, and I'm going to go over it with 440 yet to really smooth it out, but before waxing I'd like to know if there is anything else I could do to remove those pits? Thank you.
@StonerEricson9 ай бұрын
Not in my experience those big pits are actually indentations in the cast-iron top, so just get it as smooth as you can and wax it with paste wax glad you like the video. Hope it helped. Happy Woodworking to you. 👍

Something I just learned yesterday about the WD-40 can - it will spray a wide pattern without removing the red tube....you just leave the tube in the "down" position against the can and spray...i.e., it has two spray positions. Not sure how WD-40 thought that was obvious or intuitive....great video - thanks!

I have a Rockwell 10" Contractor saw and the previous owner did some staining and that got on to the top. I havent really gotten serious about cleaning it yet because the whole thing needs to be gone through, but will this also work on the stain that is in the top?
