The first step after purchasing a bus is to start demolition! I couldn't wait to get started so the seats were the first thing to go. Luckily that was the easy part, little did I know it was about to get much harder! Subscribe to follow along with #buslife and #busconversion

Umm the majority of buses such as mine have the hex head bolts that go straight through the floor with an attached nut underneath the bus...good luck to all with my problem, I'm still fighting at it and congrats to track seat people,. You saved yourself a HUGE headache. And money.

The seats came out easy for sure, but check out the video of us trying to remove the tracks... It was a nightmare... Glad to be done with that portion of the build.

Getting the floor track out was a massive pain in the butt. It was bolted every 4in or so... kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y17TY5aXd8yJqtE

Awesome job. You lucked out with the track mounted seating! Looking good already can’t wait to see what’s next.

Lucked out may not be the right term haha, wait until I try to get the tracks out of the floor... There is a bolt every 4 inches that needed to be removed to get the rest of the original flooring out!

I just got the title to my bus. All you used was the impact wrench ? I have watched several videos and everyone was saying that you need someone underneath. I'm hoping to do it your way because I don't have help

Mine came off with the impact only. But my tracks were a pain in the butt!

I have a situation and I need some advice, I am 59 years old and I am trying to do a bus build. Yes I really admire the lifestyle from what I have seen on every KZbin video out there. But also because honestly cannot afford to live in an apartment now that I'm an empty nester. I need to know if it is absolutely necessary to remove the floor before insulating and putting floorboards down. Because I have back injury and I cannot do it myself like everyone else has done it. Also the walls do they need to come off before I can put insulation up against it is there a problem with moisture or is it okay to just put the insulation up and then paneling over it I'm trying to make it as easy on myself as I can because I'm doing it alone. With a back injury and very limited funds.

Each person's build is unique to them. I always recommend removing the old subfloor and treating for rust if you plan on living full time and longterm in a bus. That being said, I have seen plenty of other Skoolie builds where people kept the original floor and covered it, kept the wall and ceiling panels original with the factory insulation. It also depends where you want to live and travel which will determine how much insulation you really need. I hope to spend some time in snowy areas so I am trying to build for multiple climates. Both @BussyMcBusface and @TaleofTwoSmittys kept their original ceilings and insulation. I also am 6'1" so removing the old flooring allowed me to save a little headroom which was important to me. Let me know what other questions you have

How much do one of the seats weigh
@SeekingDiscoveryBus

It wasn't too heavy. They could be carried by one person if you wanted. Easier with two people.

#1 most school buses have seats bolted through the floor and frame, not on racks, so this is useless for most people and #2 1:30 of motormouthing before you even to what you claim you were going to do with this video, a HOW TO?? Cancelled.

If you were to look at my other videos, you'd have seen that I have a video about removing the tracks and going under the bus to unbolt them. Which is the same technique you'd use if you didn't have floor tracks. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y17TY5aXd8yJqtE

@Salad Breath Yes, and very justified when idiot millennials make the videos about them instead of the project. Most of those videos are totally worthless wastes of good internet space and should never have been made in the first place.
