I have the new 2016 1/2 Low Rider S. RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Wear goggles and gloves
2. Use a plugged Drill (I was using a 19.2 Craftsman power drill
3. Use 3" hole bit. I was using a 2 1/2 but each Harley model varies. And use WD40 while drilling.

Thanks for posting. I was researching on if the stock pipes had removeable baffles but this video helped.

I am really grateful to you for doing this. Made the decision easy for me: I'm leaving mine stock. I really like how mine is fairly quiet until it starts actually producing and then you really hear it. A very business-like, raspy sound that I really enjoy. Of course, my decision is based on noise levels only. If you had a baseline performance run done before the baffles came out and then one more afterwards, it would be very helpful. Based on my own prior experience with other bikes, I would bet that power and torque both took a hit. I'm not sure of what result you were going for. It is definitely louder. Ride safe!

Thanks man! The Low Rider S was loaded with everything I needed with power and looks. I wasn't too concerned with the power. I couldn't even tell you if I felt that I lost any power (maybe) as I had it for only 40 miles prior to removing the baffle. However, I did feel it run better and sound better after I tuned it with the Vance & Hines Fulepak Autotuner. This girl has 110 motor, for my style of riding, that's enough power that I need and now it has the sound that I love. I apologize i didn't have a before picture but you could find other videos with one or most stock Harley all sound the same (not loud enough) especially here in California with all the emission restrictions. Thanks for the response and I wish you luck on yours. God Bless! Also check my other video after the tuning it.

Hey! Loved the video!!!! Just bought the 2016 LRS and im in love!!! wanting to do the same as ... like you... want that little bit more grunt in her voice. Any issues with just pulling out one of the baffle and leaving the other on? Kinda of middle ground place to be... With the tune... why wold you need it if you remove the baffles?

Hi Michael. I'm not sure about only taking one and I don't see why you would only do one. Are thinking that if you take one out it wouldn't be as loud or taking only one will be loud enough. It's really up to you but personally, if you're going to take out one might as well take both. As for the tuner, anytime you make any mods that's going to interfere with fuel and air ratio, a tuner is always recommended because you will start to run lean or too rich. In this case when removing the baffles, you will run lean. In short, running a tuner will always be more healthier for your bike in the long run. Of course, I'm not an expert that's just my experience. Good luck, ride safe and God bless!

A quality tuned equal length stepped header 2 into 1 with the proper map will definitely produce more hp and tq.

Did this affect how the bike ran? Did it need to be tuned after?

Hey there, I'm curious what you did with your old pipes. Are you interested in getting rid of them. I live close to you over in Orangevale. Also, did you get your bike remapped after the mod or just wait for the new pipes?

Old pipes stayed on, it was only the baffle removed. I remapped it with the vines & hines, see other video.

Thanks for the video man, I'm planning to do the same thing, my low rider s will arrive in a couple of weeks. From your video it was not completely clear however what method you recommend is best: using the 3" hole saw or using the metal drill. And what did you do exactly: you just drilled a number of holes just to weaken the structure before using the saw? The good thing about vids is that you can show instead of telling the story ...;)

Hey John, if I was to do it again. I would use a more powerful plugged drill and use a 3" hole bit and use only that to drill it through. My battery on my drill kept on dying so I improvised with a metal drill bit to drill through and hammered it through. But a good drill and a 3" hole bit should do the job. Message me and leave me you number and I could explain better over the phone :) good luck.

Looking at where the weld is holding baffle in, seems easier to straight cut just 1/4 inch off very end of muffler with shop band saw. Just my humble opinion.

if you were to take a die grinder and put a small barrel grinding stone on it. you could just grind that seal weld away and BOOM! Tip for next time or next guy.
