I've since been able to do it with a plastic pry tool. There's no bolts, it just pops right off and since there's no shifter, I don't have to deal with that aspect. I'll be doing the install this morning as I went to Lowes last night to pick up velcro 😊. I had a box that I used for two audio installs but found it was depleted of one of the two sides of the velcro. The "instruction" photo-copy is terrible. Looks like they keep it that way to encourage it be done by an "installer".

My wife has an AWD version( the gear shifter is on the right) and I couldn't get the shift boot off.... So I opened the storage compartment, and popped those two clips first. I was able to remove the center piece without removing the shift boot.

Did you use any tools or loosen/flip anything prior to lifting up on the shifter knob?

Connor Kristof no i did not use anything to lift it. Pull it firmly up and it will do the job

Connor Kristof it will get pressed when you hold the knob. But it does not make any difference

Yes you will have to.there is no other way to pry in safetly into that area without removing the console

Hi Erik... you dont have to remove any clip by itself all you do wiggle the gear knob up and pull it up and the clips comes off by itself
