I’m glad you enjoyed! I was in the same boat a couple of years ago, but it’s proven to be pretty simple to do basic mods like these

Thank you. So did you recline the passenger seat before you took it out? And did that make it easier to pull out? Also, why is it necessary to disconnect the battery? I'd be worried the car will lose all it's settings and not run right afterward.

I forgot to recline it before I removed it, but I think reclining it would make it a bit easier to remove but harder to access the rear bolts that hold the rails in place. It’s really important to remove the battery because if you don’t, the airbags could blow in the seat once you plug them back in. When I reconnected the battery and started the car, I had a bunch of lights come up on the dash (airbag, CEL, EPC, front assist error, etc.), but if you turn your steering wheel all the way to the left and all the way to the right, it recalibrates everything and all the lights go away (you can see this in part 4 of the seat install). Let me know if you have any other questions!

@@BrendonWagner Why would the airbags blow when you plug them back in, if the car has not been run and the ignition is not turned on?
@stuffhappens56818 ай бұрын
@@PanamaSticks- That is a good question. I’d prefer not to disconnect the battery. As long as the ignition/accessory is off there shouldn’t be any juice at the connector. But I’m spooked because maybe I’m missing something?

So, why would the car not drive right after disconnecting the battery? Battery replacement is a regular thing that happens every few years, and there's no reason to believe the car is not designed to deal with that occurrence.

@@kilgoretrout321 There are numerous reports on KZbin of VW's and other cars not driving correctly after battery replacement. It's also why they sell devices that plug into the computer port to keep the CPU working during battery replacement.

Can you tell me pleas those two connectors are for what ? Yellow and red ? One is for seat belt and other one is for heating seat ?
@BrendonWagner8 ай бұрын
I'm guessing red/black is for the power seat functions and yellow is for the airbags in the seat, but I'm not 100% sure

What type of bit do i need to get the bolts out?
@BrendonWagner Жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly it’s a torx m12 but I forget the exact size, you can get a torx (m) bit set from Amazon for under $20
