Have been meaning to do this on my 7.5 Tsi. Thanks for the video, did your R seats have heated seats function in them? If so did that work for you in some way? I was able to see a guy sell control panel for the heated seat button on the front panel and door still with ambient light just wondering if it would work?

My Alltrack came with heated seats, and the golf R seats also have them, so I didn’t have to change anything on my car. I’m not sure what the process is like to retro for them in

You don't need to disconnect both battery leads. Either one will work.

Hello! Is the airbag module only in the passenger seat? Or is there also another module in the pilot's seat?

was the Golf R passenger sests just plug in same as the alltrack? the R passenger. are manual front to back uses a lever correct not power like the alltrack passenger seats?

You're right about the controls being the same, but the passenger seat still came with the different harness plug, which is weird now that I think about it

My donor R seats are the exact same as my alltrack. driver is full power; and passenger is half power. Manual slide and power tilt. Do I still need to buy the adaptor harness do you know?

If you look under your seat and pull at the carpet as shown in the video, you can see what color your Alltrack seat plugs are. If they match the R seats then you don’t need the adapter

I might want to do this too. My main dissatisfaction with the stock seats in my 2017 Alltrack SE is that I'm very tall, and I want to sit lower in the car. Of course I've moved the height lever all the way down, but my eye level is about the same as the mirror. Do you sit any lower in the Golf R seats? Are those also heated? I have called a seat upholsterer, to ask if the guts of the seats could be altered to move my butt down, and he didn't think it would work. I've also asked on a VW forum for ideas on this - nothing helpful yet.

On factory seats I always left them pretty high, I lowered them a bit with the golf R ones but I’m not sure if they make a difference. They’re much more snug than the S/SE seats and definitely are more comfortable, I used to get back pain in the stock seats after around 2 hours but now I’m fine for 6+ hours of driving. I don’t think altering the stock seats would do much, I think honestly the car might be too low for someone your height. Hopefully you can figure out a way to resolve it without having to sell the car. I would join the Facebook groups, they’re very helpful

@@BrendonWagner - Would Golf Mk6 R seats fit an MK6 GTI? Or Golf R Mk7 seats into a Golf GTI Mk6? If so, what adapters would i need?

@@elvisgataric1449 I'm not too familiar with the mk6 platform, but I know MK5/Mk6 parts and seats are interchangeable, but not with the MK7 because the MK7 switched to the MQB chassis. I'm pretty sure mk6 r seats will fit in a mk6 gti, but mk7 seats won't fit into a mk6 unless you fabricate custom seat rails and wiring harnesses.
