Where do the first two hoses you mention lead to?

Hi, they are breather pipes and go into the fuel pump plate. There they lead up to the filler neck to allow any fuel that leaks when re-fueling to make its way to the ground

My vent hoses are just dangling... where do they go??? I dont see any attachment for them>> (1999 R1100S)

Hi they should join up under the tank and then continue to the pump plate. They are extensions for the overflow pipes which are on the top of the tank, at the filler cap

Hi, Many thanks for your comments. The main differences between the R1100RT and the R1150RT is quite a few. The engine is totally different inside with regard to the way it 'breathes'. Some of them are fitted with 4 spark plugs too. The 1150 engine does use oil too. Quite a bit. This is because of the way it breathes I think. I have had the 1150 and I much prefer the 1100. Also it has a 6 speed box with a hydraulic clutch instead of a cable as on the 1100's The 5 speed box gives a better ride I think as the engine can be used more, so the 6 speed is more 'fussy'. It uses a 17" rear wheel wereas the 1100 is a 18" so tyres are easier to find for the 1150 There are a lot of 'detail' differences but those are the main ones. I personally prefer the R1100RT and the GS but some people love the R1150RT too. Nice to hear from you take care.

@@tomaszgregorczyk3281 Hi thank you. The R1100RT is a perfect bike. I have had many many bikes, and to be honest the 1100 is the best bike I have ever had. I am working on a R1100GS at the moment, which is a great bike, but I think the RT is the better bike when you are using them. Hope you have some great rides this year. WHAT IN THE HELL is that Insanely Rusty Cap on the top of the Tank ? and why in the HELL is it still on your bike? Basically ... Why in the Hell hasn't it already crumbled apart and fallen off by itself ? OMG !

Hi, yes that is the fuel level transmitter. They sometimes give trouble, and are a bit of a faff to remove. I did replace that one soon after this video.

@@RestorationBiker Cool. Sorry, I didn't mean to criticize. Great Video btw ... I was just Blown-Away with that level of Rust on anything not tied to an old boat on saltwater. But you are certainly doing everything right with your maintenance. Keep up the good work !

@@markmitchezee2728 Don't worry, no offence taken. Because everything on the RT is 'under' the plastics, it is possible to not know how bad it is getting. The amazing thing is, when I took that sensor out of the tank, it was only the top that was rusty. The rest (inside the tank) was like new!!!

@@RestorationBiker You Must live near Salt Water. ? Actually, if your in the UK ... your literally surrounded by Salt Water no matter where you are so I guess I just answered my question. But either way that Screams of a Horrible design by BMW. I just have never seen that level of deep corrosive cancer type rust on anything short of those WW2 excavators / artifact hunters dudes in Russia that I watch on occasion . Who dig up an old truck or cannon part or whatever that has been in the ground for 80+yrs.

@@markmitchezee2728 Hi, yes you are right we are surrounded by salt water. I don't live near salt but the bike came from a town that is right on the Solent. The funny thing is I have had many BMW's and this is the only one where that part was that rusty. Most of them are in very nice condition. Yes, I watch those Russian, war excavators. Some of things they find are awesome, eh!
