How to remove the top in a new C8 Corvette

Title says it all. I am going to in a later video show you the mounting clips and how stiff they were when we initially started pushing on them in mine as the top hasn't been done yet. I was shocked at how much force was needed to get it locked in place. Very important info as I can see a lot of people thinking their vette is broken because they were afraid to apply as much pressure as we did to get it in place. El Juan depend on how big you are. If you are big than the GT1 is better if you have like a 36” waist than a GT2 would be better

You make it look so easy. Why didn't you demonstrate removing the roof with only one person? I know from experience, having someone there to help, it's a peice of cake. But when you're by yourself, it becomes a challenge to move your hand grips from where they need to be to remove it, (front and back) to stowing it (side to side).

It’s just as easy but I just have not asked someone to hold the camera for me while I do it. I have a video later on in my series called taking the top off in my C8 where I go over it more

Cars and Crosbie: Thank you for responding. I watched your video for a third time this morning and noticed the C8's roof panel is significantly smaller and probably lighter than my C6 to where it might not be as bulky to change grip positions. I'll be looking forward to the next video about the roof you spoke of so I'll be prepared when my C8 arrives in November, fingers crossed. Any time frame? I find it interesting that the rear latch on the roof was the "only" carry over from the C7. GM said it was the only carry over from the C6 for the C7 too. I have to say also, the front latches look and operate as my C6.

A HELPFUL TIP FROM A C8 Coupe owner- If you own a C8 Corvette Coupe you are going to want to write down this part #! 8492-9312 "GROMMET". The roof panel has two post in back. These posts fit into holes that have rubber grommets around them. Be careful when removing roof panel, you could accidently pull these gromets loose. I did and did not realize it until I went to install the roof panel later that day.. Sadly that grommet was lossed. It's only .16 cents US but it's difficult to find part # and expect 3-4 weeks for it to come in.

I had the money for a convertible but living in Washington state it seemed more cost effective to buy the coupe. It’s so easy to remove and store. Happy with my decision.

convertible gives more trunk with no tops to f with, and is easier to re sell if mercedes type top popping up and down :)

What if people don't want a 700HP version, they just want a cool Sunday cruiser? I don't think you need to feel bad for them, they got a really cool car. Here you are watching them take the roof panel off of it, must have some appeal... And what is dummied down about this car? Since we don't even know what the Z06 will be yet, how do you know the tech will be any different? Having more HP doesn't make it more advanced. just more likely to be wrecked.

@@STATRipper Dummied down doesn't mean less advanced it means doesn't look as aggressive and won't perform as well. And again, first run car. No appeal I have a C63S Edition 1 just curious about the vette since I still haven't seen one in person yet but rest assured the 6 will look mucho better.
