My decade old Nissan Rogue had same problem. You can do the Home Depot mod by getting some mesh metal sheets and zip tying it down there. Does great job protecting. After 13 years it looks way better than yours. That’s crazy how much pebble damage on your new car. I practically have zero indentations if any.

I got on the wait list at Kerbeck Corvette in June of 2019. I received I low allocation number with them (145). My car was built in the second week of production in February 2020 and I took delivery of it at my local dealership here in CA the second week of March 2020. Kerbeck does not charge one cent over sticker. On new model Corvettes or limited availability of such, it is all in the allocation numbers game and Kerbeck is king of huge allocation slots. As far as insurance I have never seen anyone beat Grundy Insurance . I pay $860 per year with $0 deductible. I did finance with my dealer, no negotiating necessary. They gave me 2.65% thru PNC bank who they do business with. Not trying to brag here just trying to give your followers alternative information. Thanks for the video!!!

Kerbeck Corvette is a great dealer. I was trying to buy a 2005 C6 in September 2004 and the Washington DC area dealers wanted $10,000 over MSRP. I found Kerbeck's website and called them. The salesman said he could get me a fully loaded 3LT for MSRP in 2 weeks all he needed was a $1,000 deposit. Needless to say they got a check and I drove back to Virginia in my new C6. I still have it. Oh, and before I drove off their lot, the owner and a bunch of their staff came out and thanked me for buying it.

Great vid. Good tips in here and some stuff I didn't know even a month into owning. One thing I figured out on mine: No need for a dash cam though if you have the PDR - just put a big enough SDcard in the slot and leave it to constantly record. That way you have footage should any crash/incident occur. Big capacity SD cards are cheap at Microcenter atm. That's what I did. Keep up the good content!

Its also fun to be old and drive past the gas pumps :) Have some consideration for the elderly on the road ,though-- you get old way faster than you think. Per Road & Track regarding the side mirrors: Why are the two sides different? Well, it all comes down to visibility, obviously. Because the rear haunches on the new C8 house things like cooling apparatuses, they stick out from the body a whole lot. That means the mirrors have to reach far enough to see around them. Because the driver's side mirror sits close to the driver at an acute angle, it doesn't need to stand out much to see behind the car. The passenger side is viewed farther away, so engineers probably wanted to give drivers a clearer, more direct mirror location to work with. We reached out to a Chevy spokesperson for some insight, and they told us that in addition to visibility purposes, the differing lengths are also required to meet some international laws.
@royalway12
@royalway12 3 жыл бұрын
A lot of drivers side and passenger side mirrors measure differently. That's because of the severely different rearward angles from a close mirror, as opposed to a far mirror.

They don’t cover the rads because they know people will red line the car constantly. The minute one car overheats there’s gonna be a lawsuit for the compromised cooling performance and then a massive recall is underway. Anyone who would suggest limiting the rad efficiency to have a prettier looking rad shouldn’t be owning a performance car

The reason for the size difference in side view mirrors comes down to the driver's seating position. In order to see around the C8's enormously-flared rear fenders from the hunkered-down driver's seat, the 2020 Corvette has a longer mirror stalk on the passenger side.

This one particular car had 800 miles on it and damage to the radiator fins had already occurred. The mesh you mentioned would be helpful, but it would hinder radiators ability to cool too. Thanks for pointing out that radiator issue. The Porsche 718 Cayman has a similar issue with the radiator getting damaged from the car sucking things into it and it being so low. Very expensive to repair/replace too, so this is a real issue IMO. I think the Porsche 718 Cayman has a 3rd party screen that helps prevent damage, so the C8 might need something similar.

Man, I was afraid it was going to be a really negative video showing tons of problems/complaints. There was mostly positives and the negatives weren’t too severe IMNO... I’m glad cause I might’ve felt bad/regret for putting a deposit down for mine last month👍🏻

have you received your C8 yet? Doing/did the museum delivery? Another thou? I think it'd be well worth it even if you're in Seattle. What a fantastic way to get acquainted with your new C8 ... road trip it HOME. wifee and I, late in life Vette owners, were in Bowling Green last week w/ our C5Z (yeah, we had to run the track, too! :) . Visited the Museum and saw a guy drive with pride out the museum doors. It was very very cool. Her uncle did this with his C5 Coupe. I was jealous. LOL.

@@shaark92 hi shark! I’m sad to say no, I ended up cancelling me deposit and getting it back. Checking with my salesman after 8 months he told me there was no progress, that the factory had been closed for a while due to Covid, and that they were having supply chain issues and he had couldn’t give me a potential delivery date except late 2022 or 2023! I was so disheartened:/ On a positive note, I took the $5K deposit, added another $19K and bought a beautiful C3(1981)! No way?! That sounds like an amazing little trip you guys had and got to experience seeing all that! What was it like on the track, how fast do you think you got up to? That must’ve been so fun:)

@@davesummer2552 I'm sorry to hear about your C8 experience ... but happy for your getting the C3. Wifey has a '71 and "Victoria" just oozes class. ya can't be a recluse because you get attention. hopefully all this foolishness will subside and the production will resume as it was intended ... perhaps re-attack the ... "godlike launch" (lol) ... in a couple years? Maybe they'll have radiator screens already installed by then? we did the "touring laps" .... level one on the high-speed license. 'follow the guy ahead." I had driven her '71 on the COTA F1 track "parade laps", but this experience was definitely more aggressive. saw a buck/quarter. took a gopro video. Mea culpa on the field of view, the outside is "overexposed" and that makes most of the track markers hard to see. many shift errors ... but it was a BLAST. You can see the C8 ahead. Young guy and his wife were in it. That thing is stupid fast. he could enter the corners faster and accelerate harder out of 'em than I could in my C5Z ... but like I say ... fun fun fun (Beach Boys) kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGe2g41oqrh6aZo

Man, that is strange about the radiator being exposed like that. I’d maybe make my own out of some really fine metal mesh, spray it black and attach it somehow. You’re right, rocks and shit will ruin it in no time. By the way, that launch control will extremely shorten the clutch life. It’ll be fun till you’re shelling out for a new one.

LOL ... yeah. Ditto. We took our C5Z to Bowling Green last week and got to track behind NCM's C8 rental. young dude driving, he could enter faster and greater acceleration out of those turns. We had a blast, but it was eye-opening to experience the difference. I'm not a proficient track guy, but he wasn't either. The difference in cars was plainly evident.

Good points in your video, especially the things that are not being discussed because of the novelty factor right now. Chevrolet made some very good features such as the soft close engine cover, the visible engine bay and power lift GPS front end. Regrettably, Chevrolet chose to add a Fiero type golf bag trunk in what could have otherwise been a real exotic, but instead chose that off putting rear end. If not for the golf bag trunk, they could have employed a better looking rear with exhaust pipes in the center and up higher. Compare it with most any Ferrari, McLaren or the Ford GT,.......... but really no comparison. I hope Chevy rethinks this rear end and makes significant changes because it is on the level of the C4 and that's not too good.

Holy crap, exposed radiator city! I'd head to the hardware store the VERY NEXT DAY after buying it and get some decent mesh to protect those mofos! What gets into GM? They make an almost perfect thing, and then diminish it in a ridiculous cheap-o way! Remember the numerous failed ignition switches? Thanks for showing this!
