How to remove the upper and lower chrome window trim on a W204 Mercedes-Benz

just in case anyone still needs to know: you don't have to remove the endcaps from the trim to remove them. I just wrapped a microfiber cloth around a flathead, put it under the trim, and pulled up. great video. thanks for the help!

Great video mate. Ordered the pry tools but didn't even use them. The rear door was a bloody pain, just couldn't fit the damn thing in. Took a good half hour just on rear door but all done now. Thanks.

Thanks, I didn't know my youtube viewers cared about what I was wearing here in the hot ass south. I had to download a cheap free video maker because Windows movie maker didn't support the format the video was shot in. End cap removal only makes pulling the trim up easier to reduce risk of scratching the paint when pulling up.

Go to your dealers shop they will look up party number and should give you that then go home and Google it to find it cheaper

Thanks for the video.A little tip,I like to use a plastic bondo spreader when I'm removing stuff like this.When you pull on the edge of stuff like this,you know that if you make the slightest mistake and it buckles youre done.When you were pulling the rear I thought it was gonna fold on you.I mean it doenst matter if youre replacing it. I just break the snaps off and put the new one on.if youre reusing them, sliding a bondo spreader under it while you pull really helps.Even the tools designed for this stuff are prone to scratching paint etc.I always slide the spreader and back my tools up with it.Works really well removing dash components,etc,any thing that requires removal without scratching the surrounding area or tweeking what youre removing.

The caps are part of trims. ☹️👎 Front trims 60€ x 2 (black) Rear trims 40€ x 2 (black) 200€ complete bottom black trims - Mercedes dealer. The caps is easy to demage if you remove them. They have fu.king small "lock patent" . Its onetime stuff ( I think) I removed that lock with sandpaper on my new caps+trims. I can remove new plastic caps easy without demage now.

Actually.. the lower horizontal pieces are listed as ‘belt moldings’ and the large upper piece is the ‘upper window trim’.
