There is another method of removing the valve cover where carb removal is not necessary it appears, but I found that a tad more difficult, so I made this video. The manual calls to align tdc on the crankshaft before removing. Does it matter in your experience?

So just rebuilt my bike with new cylinder and piston. Installed new gaskets on the bottom on cylinder and the top where it mates with head. I applied rtv from the to of head to valve cover. And completely forgot to reinstall the metall gasket that came off with it. Will I be fine with just rtv? Thanks

if you're talking about the valve cover gasket, I would say you need the gasket as that's apart of the tolerance. you can put rtv on the valve cover gasket and reuse it though in the future. Hope this helps!

Hey man, do you know what the 2 round allen bolts right above the RFVC logo (left side) are for? My bike has been leaking oil from one of them and I can't find the name of the part to find any replacement gaskets.

Its what holds the rocker arms! I'd inspect/replace 90544-KF0-000. Use Partzilla / A factory service manual to see the part breakdown! :) Hope this helps, but if it doesn't let me know and I can further explain!

Wish I would have thought of that 😂 All my valve cover bolts are mixed together. When I was taking it apart I didn't think to consider the size differences.

Note for next time I suppose! For now, use Partzilla or the Factory Service manual to see which bolts go where as the lengths are specified

Nope! Just tilt the bike to the left and right so any residual oil in the top end goes down the timing chain cutout rather than pool up top and spill when the cover is removed
