Man I felt so bad when you said you didn’t get the rocker cover off! Thanks for putting this together it helped me prepare adequately. I have a n47 and I loosened the injectors and ran it for a few seconds before disassembling everything. The compression popped them lose and it came out with ease. Probs wouldn’t have worked for yours though!

thanks for the tuition dude. my N47 is leaking ever so slightly and so after watching your vid, I think it is the gasket on the rocker cover. glad I only have 4 injectors lol.

Thanks so much for the process. This is a great insight into what to expect. Not too terribly complicated. Just like any other F chassis valve cover gasket replacement. Plan to do this soon but the injectors are the only thing giving me apprehension. BMW manual states to remove the injectors with light rotational movements LOL. Not sure if these guys have worked on a car with actual miles on them. Thanks again from Texas.

Just watched this for a bit of insight before i do my mates E70 but must say when taking the leak off pipes from the injectors you dont need to remove the grey peice just lift it up and it splays the clips so the whole bit comes off in one 👍

@@luisgameiro7486 I would believe starting in the middle and spiral outwards would be best advice but cannot personally say what the actual recommendations are plastic so there is no real chance of warping out of shape

My injectors came out without a puller. I notice they move side to side when undoing injector line. Mine had no rust tho

I have light smoke coming from passenger side behind the engine it’s obv oil burning what seals are back there

I wouldn’t have a clue about that one oil can only burn if it’s hits the manifold the only seal at back of the engine gearbox I believe would be the main seal Maybe you have a vacuum or boost leak or you need an injector seal hope this helps

Do you have to get new bolts for the rocker cover when replacing the gasket? Cuz that was the case with the n52 for example.

No, I don’t believe so you can remove stretch bolts at least three times before you need to replace them, especially on injector bolts

How do you get around the other high pressure hose that is sat hanging over the cover? That’s my last thing I need to do to remove the cover other than that I’m stuck any advice welcome

I don’t think I got that far into the job, are you on about the two hard steel lines that run up the side of the engine block. if it’s that much of a pain, you may have to take off the air intake, if you cannot pry it out of the way but I’m not 100% sure in what high pressure line you’re talking about

I am extremely sorry, I have not yet removed injectors. I have not done enough research into finding the correct injector pump. I was going to make a vid on removing injectors but need to get the correct injector puller

You just need a larger weight to your self constructed extractor. Just put a larger hammer without handle on longer axle. Also you can use different weights from the sport shop.
