Our boat is in Lake Michigan April thru October. Water is turned off when it goes into heated storage, so no real way to wash. Over the winter I Polish with Menzerna 400 and apply 2 coats of Jascar Ultra Lock Plus. Last couple years I just wiped down with windex prior to polishing. Any other thoughts?

That certainly makes it difficult. We used to wipe down with Isopropyl Alcohol when I detailed up north. I like the idea of doing 2 coats of ultra lock!

Live on the Great Lakes. I usually put the boat up in the winter by sealing with power lock plus and then a day later collinite. This way I can launch early and be ready. What do you think the length of this method lasts on Lake Erie? Also to remove black steaks, what can I use that removes the streaks and not remove the wax or sealant? Thanks!

I think that method would last a season on Lake Erie. Why not do 2 coats of power lock plus? There’s nothing you can use that I am aware of to remove the streaks and not the wax / sealant. Re polish them out or clean the boat more frequently

I have heard that adding just a bit of Starke Simple clean to your pail of water and ph balanced soap can look after the black streaks. Perhaps Simon can comment? And where do those black streaks come from anyways???

I ceramic coated my boat 12 months ago with Starke Liquid Kraken on the hull from the rub rail down to the waterline (used Repel Pro above the rub rail). The boat was in salt water here in NY (Long Island Sound) from May-Oct. and maintained properly with regular washing. When the boat was hauled in October, I washed the hull with Venom. The hull looks great and the ceramic coating is definitely holding up, but if you look closely on an angle you can see faint salt water spots. The boat is indoors now in a heated warehouse for the winter, and I want to remove the water spots and redcoat the hull with Liquid Kraken. I am wondering what process you recommend to do this? I have a Flex 3401 (the “beast”) and I was thinking of using a Lake Country Orange Force Hybrid Pad with Starke Ignition or Elevate, or possibly a white force hybrid pad? I don’t want to remove the entire Ceramic coating, just the faint water spots. Thoughts?

You’re not going to remove a ceramic coating with polish. Sounds like you’re doing everything that’s recommended. Wipe the boat down again with Undr Dog WSP (water spot remover) and then polish with Elevate on the Flex 3401 VRG with the purple foamed wool pad by lake country. Then recoat
