Everyone has their own technique and tools that works best for them, but I like a window glazing tool instead of the putty knife. I cut the one end of the tool off that is used for glazing, then it leaves you with a nice little compact putty knife. It is a very rigid tool, and it comes with about a 30 degree bend, which makes it a little more convenient to use. Just my two cents! Thanks for your vids! Very representative of what it’s like to clean windows in the real world, and I love how you’ve reviewed pretty much every tool known in the industry! 😂

Best thing is knowing how to fix them. So you clean all the windows and fix all broken screens it’s a great add on

Cleaned a house last month that had flex screens. Never heard of them or seen them. Told her it wouldn't be a problem when she called. If you haven't seen them i understand, starting price is 60 bucks for a small 24x24 screen. I wish all houses had them. You push out from the center, the sides of the screen flexes inward creating an hourglass shape. You grab one side and pull the screen out. Super super easy. I almost felt guilty charging her.
@BeeWhistler Жыл бұрын
How are they supposed to come out, though? We have a brand new home, we undid the latches on the screens and pulled up and tried pushing and pulling it every which way and it won’t budge. Pushing out isn’t an option… the plastic covers the sides. Pulling in, they don’t fit. I don’t even know how he installed them.

Just started doing odd jobs for friends and all the tabs were broken off of new-ish Lexar windows at one house. This is super helpful!!

Yes, that is so common unfortunately. Those tabs can be so brittle ☹️

I can't figure out how to put my screens back in. They popped out, from the outside, real easy.I had new screen put on them.... But now I can't figure out how to get them back in!!!! They are sides spiders without tabs or springs.

What do I do if I'm doing exterior window washing with a waterfed pole and don't have a ladder? Do i just leave the screens in when cleaning?

@@harleyslocum917 I learned to ask if the home owner if they want to take the screens out (sometimes they are uncomfortable with me coming in the house) Or I will offer to take them out. The screens come out from the inside

Hey SteveO, I've been looking at squeegees recently and noticed that some have quite soft / flexible rubber on the end while others have a firmer "stronger" feeling rubber. which would you recommend and are there different uses for each? thanks in advance :)
@SteveOthewindowcleaner2 жыл бұрын
Soft rubber is best for winter and hard rubber is best for warm weather, Ettore master squeegee rubber is a great year around rubber, I suggest going with that windowcleaner.com/ettore-master-squeegee-rubber?pt=MY

where I live, a lot of houses have sliding windows where the only way to get the screen out is to lift the sliding glass pane out first (then put the glass back so you can clean it, then reverse the procedure once screen is ready to reinstall). Such a stupid design!
