UPDATE BASED ON SOMEONE’S Experience from the comment section. She wrote, thank you sis for replying. Let me drop this here as an update. I did not get a new NIN slip after my change of name. However on the immigration system, before applying for passport renewal my new name was updated. Hence I proceeded to the high commission with my old NIN slip. To be completely honest, i wasn't asked for NIN. Other ppl i met there only had their NIN number. I had no issues at all and my new passport was delivered in 2days. I said 2days. Hello Uche, I want to say a big thank you to be honest I don’t know where I’m going to start from, but God bless you. You saved me so much hassle. @@mayowajohnson1204 That will still work. Please before you embark on the journey to your appointment. See if an enrollment centre can help you check that your name and DOB is correct. A close person got toe high commission and there was a mistake in his DOB.

Hi. For the first question; I’ll update you later on it as my daughter is capturing next week so when she gets her passport back I’ll know if things have improved. 6-8weeks is from my own experience receiving mine. Travel if your passport is still valid for at least 6months when u intend to return back to the country (UK) you can check online as well.

The National Identification Number (NIN) is issued to you by NIMC after your enrolment. As long as it has a NIN written on it then you wouldn’t need to do another one

Yes by all means select the available date you are seeing. From 3 experience from renewing for my family, you cannot reschedule when booked. The system is programmed that way

Hi, I originally booked an appointment for 20th March 2025, but due to an emergency, I am needing an earlier date in January 2025. Would it be possible to do a walk-in for a date between 22nd and 24th January? On another note, has anyone used the Contactless Biometric Capture (CBC) App in the UK? It was supposed to be launched in November 2024, but the app is horribly and incredibly frustrating to use. Today, it refused to connect to my internet and kept claiming there was no connection available, even though my network is stable. I’m starting to wonder if the app has even been activated for use in the UK yet. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

In this case the following documents are required: a) Marriage Certificate; b) Consent Letter signed by the husband; c) Data page of the husband’s Passport; d) Applicant’s Valid Passport. The Mission also effect change of name as a result of Divorce. The applicant is to provide the following: a) Divorce Certificate; b) Proof of maiden name, e.g. Passport before marriage. Hi. I got that from Nigeria. You can get UK change of name affidavit from a nearby court. The change of name publication I got from Nigeria was a newspaper publication I used for NYSC redeployment. Then I went to the court to get a legal change of name affidavit. I think affidavit from UK should be okay but still check Nigerian high commission FAQ and see if that was answered

Hi. With the new system, you need your Birth Certificate. Here’s what you can do, if you have a friend or family in Nigeria, ask them to help you go to National Population Commission (NPC) in their area and get another one for you. NPC will need some details from you such as: Full name (Surname first): Sex: Place of Birth: Town/Village: Date of Birth: Father's full name (Surname first): Mother's fullname (Surname first): This is what I did for mine and they person scanned me a copy and also used a courier to send the original copy. Thanks for this video. I have gotten my NIN in the UK. When I go to the site to apply to renew my expired passport, it does find my NIN details. However, it then takes me to page to enter my "current passport number"; I do so and then it gives me the error message "There was a problem verifying your passport number. Kindly try again later". Please how do I get pass this to actually do the passport application now I have the NIN

Move the mouse pointer over the Processing Link on the menu bar, on the drop down menu that appears, click on Interview [reschedule]. Enter your reference number and Application ID and click on Search Record. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Re-schedule button. Your application is redisplayed with a new interview date.

@@kayceeokezie2535 No. You don’t need a new NIN But you need to go to a NIN enrollment centre to change your details with proof like birth certificate etc. and a New NIN slip will be given to you.

Hi. Your NIN card is okay but To be on a safe side just check with a NIN office to see that your details are correct till date. My husband got to Nigerian high commission office and the D.O.B on his NIN was wrong. Also, go with a photocopy and Original of your NIN card on the day of your passport capturing. I can drop the email I used to validate my baby’s NIN in UK but she was captured in NIN office so I don’t know if this is the same email for people captured years ago.

Hi. Keep using your tracking ID and track your passport. It should change to dispatch for delivery or something like that. Not sure why it has taken long. But I don’t think you should be worried if it shows issued. I’d be worried if it’s still showing processing.

Please when making payment, did you make separate payment for you and your child or one can make payment together as a family as in, add all the money together and make one payment? Also, appointment, you said your appointment was in March why your child ws in December, did you apply together on same day and got different appionment dates or you apply on different dates ? Hi. I said I applied for my child in December 2023 and I got date for March 2024. I don’t know if you understand. I didn’t capture on the same day as my child. It is possible to get same date as a family as I have seen families in high commission who had same appointment. I’m not sure you can make application together as a family and pay as one. But, start with one application and see if there’s an option to add other members of the family to the same application. If this is an option, that would be great. (Would love to know) If the option above doesn’t work then what you can do is to apply for everyone differently first, make payment and then open different tabs on your browser with each applicant and choose appointment for same date and time. 🤗

Hi. Nigerian High commission address in London is in your Appointment Slip. You don’t dispatch the documents before your appointment but you will go to the High commission on the date of your appointment with ALL necessary documents. I don’t think you can bring your date closer. I’ve tried multiple times and it wasn’t possible. If you’re not travelling out of the UK then you are safe to wait for January to get a new passport. There’s an evidence you booked your appointment before it expired

Thanks Uche the problem was in the zoom facility of my browser. I had to reduce the zoom from 100% to 80% to see the Submit button. It was the developers who did not size the app to fit in any browser easily.

Hi. To my best of knowledge. The new print comes out when it actually reflects the name change. I would suggest you call the enrolment center this morning and ask. They have a way of checking this. If your name doesn’t change on NIN then high commission would not be able to work on your new passport because their system would not allow them proceed.

However on the immigration system, before applying for passport renewal my new name was updated. Hence I proceeded to the high commission with my old NIN slip. To be completely honest, i wasn’t asked for NIN. Other ppl i met there only had their NIN number. I had no issues at all and my new passport was delivered in 2days. I said 2days. This is my personal experience
