Was the drive gear on the original metal? I think I would have looked into putting it on the new pump. Wonder if the plastic gears make it quieter.

I know this is an old video, and you probably already know what I'm saying, did you spray with soapy water to find the leaks? Mine leaks at the quick disconnect, but you can't hear it, had to immerse it to find the leak.

Why did you not just unscrew the hose and screw in your longer hose?

My compressor starts working and builds pressure up to 150psi but sometimes during work it will not start and won't keep tank charged. Sometimes it turns on only for a few seconds then goes quiet. Sometimes I hears something that it wants to start like air going somewhere through the pipe for about 2 second and then quiets and stays like that. Fails to keep up pressure in tank when I use it. Pressure goes low as 50psi but compressor doesn't start. Then I had to open drain valve to release remaining air pressure in the tank. Disconnect it from AC power for few minutes and it starts working again build up to 150psi again. I don't hear any air leaks. What could be wrong??

its loud and slow to build pressure. It's not made anymore, they've moved on to other models. As stated in the video, you'll spend about 60% of cost to repair it.

I have a great idea for you: What if you plug a windmill to that cylinder pump, replacing the electric motor, and have free air ? now that would be a very cool video !

On Ebay. It looks like they stopped manufacturing them though. It may get harder and harder to find. :-(

@@J20Jeepster Great video. My problem exactly. But the pump/motor assembly is still unavailable/obsolete and you can't buy the piston ring. So a "working" (40 psi) compressor is headed to the trash for a nickel part. Dumb, dumb, dumb. But I guess CH wants to keep selling new compressors not fixing old ones.

Mine builds pressure but, it won't shut off. I replaced the pressure switch but, unfortunately, that did not fix the problem. Any ideas?

It could have a little leak somewhere or the pump is going out. If it's leaking or blowing by the pump too much it can't build up enough pressure to get to the cut off pressure.

I have one of those also….not even 10 hrs use in 2 years. Same problem. This IS THE LAST CH COMPRESSOR AND ANYTHING ELSE CH MAKES …THAT I WILL EVER BUY. CH should mean CRAP HOLE.

Get what you pay for? I have a 30gal ch from like 2010ish still going, yes had to repair some things over the years But it was $300 not $30
