Hi I was calling to see if you can come out to give me a quote, I want to add a rockslide to my pool. I’m located in El Cajon
@ajshah27489 ай бұрын
Very nice work. Can you please share how many days it took? Does it always necessary to empty pool?
@DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos9 ай бұрын
Thank you! Time depends on weather and hours worked per day but this one might have been around 2.5 weeks at 8hrs+ per day. And for full remodels of all the rockwork, including below water yes, the pool should be emptied. I often am brought in when pools are getting re-plastered. I do sometimes use floating rafts but this excludes full repairs on the "water rocks". Re-colors can be done but there will be a line wherever the water level is during that process. I do lower the water level to make that lower that the normal pool water level.. Hope that helps. More info including free stuff at davehenderson.podia.com if ya like. Have a great day! :)

Beautiful! What do you recommend to stop stop little water cracks on a slide?
@DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos Жыл бұрын
Depends on the cracks... Water can come up from underneath or top-down with slides. And the water never stops trying to "do its things". Little cracks I don't worry about much. Big cracks could mean structural failure. Either way trying to fix this stuff has limitations. Thus I always tell clients that whatever I do to try and "fix" the problem can not be warranted or guaranteed to not crack in the future. So "stopping" leaks is a challenge. A crack can be in the slide coating, (slippery stuff) and/or in the cement/mortar slide surface. Again, small cracks I just paint in with the slide coating material. Big cracks might need to be ground out with an angle grinder and a diamond disc to then be filled with fast set high strength mortar and Sika, (or other Brand) acrylic concrete add-mix. Trowel flat then once set, (next day) light grind with a diamond cup grinding disc to perfect the smoothness. After that new coating. Again, no guaranty it won't crack in the future. Anyway, hope that helps. More fake rock how-to stuff, including free downloads and more at davehenderson.podia.com if ya like. Have a great day! Cheers, Mr. Dave :)

Hey mr Dave did u use the waterproofing cementatious mix
@DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jose, I think I just used the same stuff as usual, Aquablock XL and Miracote Membrane C. :) Adding an acrylic add-mix to your texture coats also helps with water penetration... I use Sika Acrylic, www.homedepot.com/p/Sika-SikaLatex-1-Gal-Concrete-Bonding-Adhesive-and-Acrylic-Fortifier-187782/202521398 Hope this helps. :)

What type of cement mix did you use? I have some work I need to do to mine
@DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos8 ай бұрын
I usually rebuild these when they are this bad with regular bagged 4000psi concrete from Home Depot with a new slide coat on top of that made of a mortar product called www.quikrete.com/productlines/stuccobasecoatpumpgradepro.asp I also add an acrylic add-mix called Sika, see: www.homedepot.com/p/Sika-SikaLatex-1-Gal-Concrete-Bonding-Adhesive-and-Acrylic-Fortifier-187782/202521398 Usually about a 4 second pour if I'm mixing a small batch in a 5 gallon bucket or 10 seconds when mixing 200lbs or more. So there ya go. Hope that helps. Have other fake rock tips, including free downloads at davehenderson.podia.com if ya like. Have a good one! :)

what do you recommend using to re-seal a concrete waterslide as well as patching small cracks.
@DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos3 жыл бұрын
I currently am using an epoxy and polyurethane from a company called Westcoat. www.westcoat.com. Contact them to find a distributor and tell them you're needing coatings for a concrete slide. I use the epoxy first followed the next day by E-95G poly. Keep the epoxy thin as it runs. And do the coating in the cooler time of the day. Best of luck to you. 👍😎

Do you have any contacts that can repair/repaint a concrete waterslide in the Inland Empire (Redlands/Beaumont)?

Hey Chad, I'm afraid I don't have anyone in your area. Grew up in Redlands by the way... :) Anyway, if you poke through my KZbin channel videos I think there are videos that go over how to fix slides. Have an awesome day my friend. :)

@@DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos - I have a pool that was built with a rock feature and everything is great but I noticed a small crack coming down the slide itself. What can I purchase to fill that crack? Is there waterproof calking?

This isn't really a "how to" video. More of "what I did" video. Not an educational step-by-step video. Thumbs down from me.
