Brilliant video ,i have one of these and it still runs good but have always been nervous to take it apart to much . N ow at least i can see how the carb comes apart and checking on off switch. Many thanks

Appreciate the video Todd. So, how does the sprocket become dislodged and is there a way to try and prevent it? Appreciate any feedback, I'm pretty intimidated by chainsaws to be honest. I generally steer clear but have a cheap Poulan I'm working on for personal use. Thanks again.

The seized needle bearing, located inside the clutch drum, is what caused the clutch to unthread. It's very uncommon to have this happen. Your Poulan might be made by Husqvarna. I believe their early saws, the old metal body ones, they made. But then the name was purchased and they were simply Husqvarna saws, but yellow/green/purple. I could be wrong about them making their own saws back in the beginning... I'm not a Poulan expert, and usually don't work on them because they're typically in bad shape, poorly made, and not worth the expense of the repair. Prone to leaking crankshaft seals, and leaking cylinder base gaskets, so even if you put a carburetor and fuel lines in them, the still won't run well, because of all the air leaks, especially once they get hot.

I have a 61 just like this that the previous owner wrecked the kill switch on. I got a new one off amazon but the old one was grounded to the case and there's only one wire. Do I just need to run a wire from the other terminal on the new one to somewhere on the case? I couldn't find any case grounded switches like the original for sale.

Sounds like that's what needs to happen in order to use that version of kill switch.
