I know they recommend the thin strip for road but in my experience of fixing flats on vehicles and now also on my tubeless setup on my bike depending on the puncture size use the one needed. I mainly use the medium strip in most cases and it does the job cause once forced in there it will expand plus twist a little to help it form into place. (The “road” thin strip sucks) lol

Yes I have taken to using the fattest strip I can fit. I had one viewer say he uses multiple Dynaplugs in the same hole until it seals. Thanks for watching!

Did it hold? I’ve tried the plug and after a little it just spit it of the tire. I’m wondering if I didn’t twist enough to form a good ball to keep it inside.
@SeeYouUpTheRoad2 жыл бұрын
Hello Joseph and thank you for watching! No it did not hold! I also thought I didn’t twisted enough so I tried that as well. I have a series of videos and all this tubeless repair stuff it’s been nothing but frustration. Thanks again for watching please consider subscribing

@@SeeYouUpTheRoad thanks for the quick reply! That has been my experience with trying to fix them. I have one now that seals but keeps opening with more sealant each time. Going to try to patch it tomorrow.

@@jmallit If you watch the other videos in this series you will see I tried all the hacks that other people recommended and it was all BS. The best thing to do is patch it from the inside. I used the regular patches for tubes. But then one of the viewers pointed me to the patches for tubeless tires. See if you can source them. I carry them in stock if you can't find them. Have you used dynaplugs? If so how do they compare?
@SeeYouUpTheRoad2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t used Dyna plugs. As a general rule I will not use or review products that are sold direct to consumers. I do not wish to support brands that are not sold at your local bike shop LBS. Dyna plugs fall into that category as well as Canyon bikes and so on.
@omarcastz2 жыл бұрын
@@SeeYouUpTheRoad thanks for the reply and the info regarding dyna plugs not being sold at lbs. I don't suppose you could talk about the bike industry and companies that are going direct more and more (like canyon and now apparently specialized is starting). Would love to hear your take as I also prefer to support my local bike shop as much as I can and would hate for the entirety of the bike industry to go direct only.

@@omarcastz this is a great topic and one I sprinkle in my videos from time to time. I saw the news on Specialized going direct and didn’t know how to address it on my channel. I don’t sell Specialized and generally don’t like to talk about the evil empire. Their business practices and they way they treat their bike shops is unlike any other manufacturer. I worked as a general manager of 2 Specialized concept stores for 6 months and well that’s all I could handle.

I had a tubeless puncture that wouldn't seal recently. I ended up using a small amount of super glue to seal the exterior gash and a good old inner tube patch for the interior of the tyre with regular repair glue. Worked a charm.
@SeeYouUpTheRoad2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried super glue but I have patched from the inside and it worked. The challenge was getting a really clean surface to glue the patch. What did you use to clean the inside of the tire? I used a motorcycle patch kit. It was too bulky what did you use?
@send_it_si2 жыл бұрын
@@SeeYouUpTheRoad Yeah so I simply used the basic repair patches/ glue that you would use for an innertube repair. Cleaned off any dried sealant with a dry rag, gave the inside of the tyre a bit of a key with some sandpaper and applied the patch as normal (I always like to clamp my patches down to ensure adherence). I had already superglued the exterior gash down the night before, removing any sealant from the hole and again clamping flat.

Is this the new GP5000S TR? If so, how many miles/kms did you do on it before this happened? I will be getting a 32c S TR today.

This is the 5000 TL. As I mentioned in an earlier response to you I am not using the S TR yet. They are not available from my distributors until the end of April (and I don’t trust those dates). What part of the country or world are you in that you can find them in shops?

@@SeeYouUpTheRoad Just wanted to be sure as this is a newer video. I'm living in The Netherlands and they're around 60 euro here and the stock seems fine on a few sites. But there's plenty of German sites where I buy a lot of bike parts where they're out of stock right now.

So tubeless worth it on road? I have been debating about moving from clinchers and so far confused and it seems like too much hassle on road implementation. How many times the sealant worked for you before failing?
@SeeYouUpTheRoad2 жыл бұрын
Hello and Thank You for your question. Tubeless offers other benefits Besides what most people want to focus on - the flatting. Tubeless tires are faster than clinchers and faster than the old benchmark- tubular. The ride is sublime! And wheel manufacturers are only developing better aerodynamic inter-phasing between tire beads and wheels. Now let’s get to the only thing people obsess about irrationally I might add. More times than not a sealant will seal. And when it doesn’t you would have to stop and change a tube anyway. So to me tubeless road is totally worth it ever since Continental released their 5000 TL Thanks again for watching please consider subscribing

@@SeeYouUpTheRoad thanks for the reply. Is the ride quality that much better than latex inner tube?
@SeeYouUpTheRoad2 жыл бұрын
@@Fear.of.the.Dark. in my opinion yes! I ride A LOT and even I can’t tell the difference of butyl or latex tubes but I can tell 10-20 psi lower pressure difference between a tubed and a tubeless set up. Additionally, I find latex tubes a pain in the ass to work with. Anytime a customer wants me to install them I charge them extra labor.
