Thanks so much for posting! I was having the same problem - oven shutting off - & husband didn't believe it was the relay board. I felt it had to be & sure enough, I got a new one & I'm back to baking!

Very resourceful. You have nice stuff because you're a smart man. The way you replaced one lead at a time speaks volumes. Thanks for sharing this tip. I hope I can fix my oven :(

@@WrightWayDave Well hopefully I never have to practice on an oven again. Most of my videos are just doing things that have to be done and figuring it out along the way.

Was the initial symptom simply that the oven stopped heating? Or was it more than that? On ours the oven shuts off and the clock resets. We can start it right back up, but it’ll often repeat after a few minutes. Something getting too hot makes sense, but I don’t know why that would mess with the clock

I think my oven my be doing the same thing. It heats up and will be on for about 15-30minutes and then the entire ovn shuts down. After the oven is completely cool it will go back on and I can use it again. So strange because it started happening 6 months ago and has been fine--up until I was baking a cake yesterday. So, sounds like the same thing as yours was doing.?? I am guessing mine too will be the main relay board? As it difficult to connect all the wire plugs in the new board? Thanks! Love your video!

@@CarolinaCowboys I just finished installing my new relay! The oven heated and didn't shut off!!! I watched you installing your relay on slow speed--I couldn't figuare out how to remove two of the connectors. But saw in slow speed you used a screwdriver to pry them up. Thanks again for the great video. Saved me from having to hire a repair person--who told me he was going to replace the thermal fuse.

my oven is also Frigidaire and the top oven keeps shutting off after 15-20 minutes of use and displays the Error Code F10 but I'm able to run the bottom oven up to 30 minutes with no issues. Could the relay board only affect the top oven and not the bottom oven?
@CarolinaCowboys2 жыл бұрын
Yes there's a separate relay for the bottom oven, unfortunately both ovens are controlled by the same main board I believe.

It appears they no longer make this board anywhere. I have scoured the web and its not available anywhere. I found a company in south carolina that will repair an existing one though. Im going to try the fuse you put in first today. If that doesn't solve it, I'll be mailing the board to them for repair 😢

Relays do tend to fail expecially the ones that are switching high currents like the elements. It's mainly the Relay contacts that burn out and go resistive and work intermittently. If you know what you are doing you can trace it down and replace it, they are fairly cheap around less then £20 Another thing to check is the acutall connections on the board that feed the heating element, you could just have a bad/dry solder joint so worth checking that first before replacing any parts could save you load of money.
@CarolinaCowboys2 жыл бұрын
Ya I thought about that, but since it's high voltage I didn't want to take any chances of not doing a good enough job
@mrshoney26242 жыл бұрын
@@CarolinaCowboys you did the correct thing, safety come first.👍
@gagejohnson37783 жыл бұрын
It was definitely not the fuse. If it were the fuse, it would not even turn on and the screen would be black. You were definitely right about it being a bad relay board.
@CarolinaCowboys3 жыл бұрын
Well I thought it was a thermal cuttout that resets itself, but when I saw it was a manual breaker then I knew it wasn't bad.
@gagejohnson37783 жыл бұрын
I see! I’m glad it fixed. Is it still working and not turning off?

If I knew a Frigidaire was made by Electrolux I think I went about an Electrolux we got the same problem going here but you got there I don't think they may ever make any more good stuff like to use in the old days my mother used to have a stove for 25 years this is my fourth stove already
@CarolinaCowboys2 жыл бұрын
Ya I think the base heating components are the same as 25 years ago, but the newer electronic features are what seem to be faulty.
@SybilDefense2 жыл бұрын
I have a smaller irregular sized kitchenaid (17"w) that I would replace if I could. I blew the thermal shutoff fuse (single fail type stock) and replaced it with an auto resetting thermal sensor. I thought I was the Uber genius when I got the oven to work again, but I continue to have power shutoff failures (mid cookie making!) that annoys the Mrs and deflates my fixit ego. I was thinking that maybe when replacing the fuse/sensor, I placed the wire on the wrong side of the insulation surrounding the oven. The PF occurs when above 375 for 10-15 mins or "steamy" dishes. It comes back on but screws up my timing. I may take the unit apart again and reposition the sensor in a more insulated situation and see how that works. If not, I will look at the board replacement
