@Anjuka Asela, I like the video and it shows you are pretty good at electronics repairs. However, next time you use a heat gun to remove a chip, you should always use aluminum foil to shield the surrounding areas. The heat can damage capacitors or surrounding components. If you make another video you should use a foil shield on anything sensitive to heat so someone does not try it themselves and screw up and blame you for it. Also clean up the flux paste LOL. That is corrosive and sticks to dust which can cause short outs later on in life. Great video. Up voted!

Samsung LE37A330 here with a very likely broken AS19-HG. What temperature do you set your heatgun to when doing work like this? Do you use rather low or high airflow?

@ superdau... No it's not broken. for non pasted IC I use 120 C.... If unable to remove then go high.

What was the gel liquid stuff you were using. I have a heat gun and solder tool. The chip at shop jimmy is about bout $15. It shows a very weird picture kind of like bad white and black, or looks inverted. Tv is old so I think this will fix it. just curious what that liquid was, and you used it again instead of solder correct

There is a Resistor array beside the chip moved when you picked up the old chip You forgot to realign it .. but nice job and well-done :)

Nice demo, Anjuka. I am just curious, how did you diagnose the fault in that IC (in your case AS 15-G) and not in other component, such as in the timing controller ? Thanks.

@Danial, Most of the time based on my experience if there is any color issue then the fault will be definitely with the G-15 IC since as far as I know this is the component which control TV RGB color, But for some Samsung TV I may try the EM-7G IC which may be cased to the color issues. This all based on practical experience ones you started to work in electronic field then it will be easy to find the issue of any gadget but some may take time....

Excellent video Anjuka! Thank you for creating this video! May I please ask if you would know whether or not this same principle would apply with LG's older LCDs? Such as the 55LW5700? I've had this for about six years. What I've started noticing since over a year ago is quite interesting. When you first turn it on, it works flawlessly. But after about 30 minutes of usage, there is subtle smearing in the picture quality. Sometimes it happens, and sometimes it doesn't.

Instead bypassing try to connect the IC legs through copper jumper wires or else better to replace the boards but 100% sure jumper wire technic works if done correctly.

Hi AJ, Your Video was very helpful for knowing the issue on my TV as well, I have UA40H5100ARXZN, this was bought from online in india, but manufactured in Egypt. I have the same issue, but as i opened up the TV, i found one board which connects to the display as TCON_USI_T(FLIP_LVDS) - which you might as well be referring as TCON board. But I did not find the IC you mentioned anywhere on that board. Could you please help me out in this as the service guys asking 6 grand to just check it. More than that this stuff is interesting. Anjuka (or anyone else), can you tell from this jpg picture of my Samsung T460HD TV/monitor whether my issue is with the T-Con board, the main video board, the LVDS cable between them, or something entirely different? Notice the horizontal bars are wider at the left. The unit powers on, and I can do a factory reset (power-of/mute/1/8/2/power-on (wait 15 secs) enter/enter/enter, however the same screen shows, no matter what I select as the video source using remote or side button.
