Excellent video, so by testing the voltages on the tcon and logic boards the way you just did you will know if the part is working or not? Testing the fuse on the tcon and those inductors and coil fuse should tell if the tcon is working or not? thanks so much

Hi just a question, I was trying to measure voltage on leds but was confused to what my results were. I measured from each line to ground different values more voltage on negative line. Reason I was measuring no backlights but screen text was ok. No 24v for leds one leg was 0v the other 40v leds in series, any clues would be welcome. I have watched many of your videos and was really impressed with your straight forward and direct to the point way of presentation, many thanks.

I have an LG 50-GA6400-UG Same scenario; picture goes out but the sound works well. I can see the picture in the background with a flash light . The inverter board was replaced twice and both times failed within a week. Could it be something else that is blowing these boards or did I get bad used boards?

Hi, great video, I need your help if you do have time, I have a samsung un55d7000 with black screen, no sound. No backlight but when I remove the flex cable going to the main bord the backlight will light up. Further when I keep the flex cable feeding the main bord and remove the flex cable of t-con board that come from the main board, the backlight will come on. According to your expertise is the t-con board going bad ? Thank you

I know this is an old video. I have a Samsung le40n87bdx that I’m trying to fix. I’ve got as far and my standby voltage being about 1.8 when it should be 5.3.. it pulses to 13v as it’s clicking off and on. I’ve changed 7 capacitors and tonight removed the ones I’ve changed because they didn’t work. Trying to think of where to go next.

The backlight sometime turn on and sometime it doesn't , when it doesn't I don't see the signal inverterON/OFF, I have audio. If the tv doesn't turn the power factor correction doesn't go on, I could make the backlight go on by unpluging the power from 110vAc and plug it again. Were should I focus my problem , on the power supply board or the signal inverterON/OFF from the main board ? what could be your best guess on what to change if is the power supply board?
@TboneLoyal3 жыл бұрын
So where would you probe on the hot side to check voltages? Ive only seen people use the main grounding on the box for everything. And would this be how you use an oscilloscope on the hot side. Since you have the grounded loop of the mains ground. Thanks for the info.
@norcal7153 жыл бұрын
On the "hot" side, usually the negative terminal of the bridge rectifier/main filter cap is hot ground.
@TboneLoyal3 жыл бұрын
@@norcal715 Thank you. So using chassis ground on the hot side or the electrical side would potentially short out the DC,backwards filter the ac to the dc on other boards? Im new and learning all this. I am one of those who have to understand why. Thank you.

hi, i have a samsung TV model LA37C530F1MXRD with Powerboard: BN44-00339B. TV standby light on, but TV won't turn on. checked powerboard, can't see any bad caps or anything obvious. When I put my meter on 13V pin on connector, I see voltage go up to about 13v, then drop to 0v, then back up, like it's turning itself on/off in a cycle. Same goes if I put my meter on 24V pin on the connector going to the backlight module. If I disconnect the cable that goes too main AV board, the 12V pin an 5V pins shows stable volts. (not cycling) does that mean main board is faulty, or can it still be the power board? which pins can I short (with resistor) to turn power board on while main board is disconnected, so I can test PSU voltage while board is on? thanks!

Please, tell me, how to check voltage/ working functions on Samsung UN60EH6000F T-con board. TV has no picture, but audio OK?? In smaller t-con boards problems many times is Cap.#CD31 and Transistor QD2. Would they be same numbers/models in this bigger TV, 60 inch?? If not, what numbers they are in mine?? And how do I test them, when power is on?? Thanks, one more question: can I replace UN60EH6000F to UN65EH6000F, would that work just fine?? I have one extra one like that! Thanks, youtheman =)

After that red led start flashing 6 time. I have check the power at pin 3 is 3.3v and 24 volt to inverter is ok. Reg. 12volt to main board ok. What I suspected is back light inverter. This is a great video and got me off the ground in my troubleshooting. I have this TV and it boots as soon as it's plugged in and then re-boots in a non-ending loop. Well, almost non-ending. A couple of times, for no readily apparent reason, it has come on, stayed on, and operated perfectly until turned off [by IR, side switch or unplugging] at which time it goes into the boot loop again. Every measurement is exactly the same as in this video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZTUn6Sjd92cp7s) except for pin 1 on the ribbon cable connecting the power supply and the main board. It reads 1.2vdc all the time instead of the 0vdc/2.8vdc shown in the video. If I ground the pin it, of course, stops the looping but then it doesn't come on either. If I disconnect the pin it reads .8vdc on the power supply side and 2.96vdc on the main board side. I would expect 0vdc for off and 2.8+vdc for on as indicated in this video and it appears that Q302 on the main board is the pullup/pulldown switch but I haven't detected any voltage on the base so I would expect 2.8vdc on pin 1 unless something on the power supply is pulling it down. The power supply side doesn't look like it could ever get over the .8vdc EB breakdown voltage of QM802 so I'm at a loss as to how pin 1 could ever get to 2.8vdc. I've seen posts that have a similar symptom - continuous rebooting -- and they found bad caps. I have removed and tested just about all of them and found no issues. I have a schematic for the power supply but have been unable to find a schematic for the main board - BN96-11408C. Does anyone know of a schematic -- either official or reverse-engineered?

@@norcal715 Yep, one capacitor was bad, a 1200uf 10v was bulged, I replaced it with a 1000uf 16v because it was the only I had with the closest specifications. Should I replace it with a cap with the same specs or I can leave the one I used?
