Hi ...thought I might mention a technique I've found useful when repairing small areas of finish on guitars - take a single edged razor bldae and wrap a piece of tape around each end of the sharp edge. You can the scrape away ridges quickly down to the level that the tape stops you touching the good surface of the piece. You then use sandpapers to get the final surface flat. Hope this makes sense to follow and helps.

Hi I’m going to use this technique to repair a crack in a white bone China mug. Will I need to glaze or something afterwards so that the mended crack blends? Thanks

Glazing will definitely protect the area. Although you will still see the join. 😊

Milliput is really for filling in chips and cracks.

May I ask. When one uses the 12000 paper, does it affect the original glaze on either side?

It should ok if you use it gently.

Thanks for your video 😁 I’ve managed to lightly scratch the glaze to either side of the milliput. Can you advise how best to remedy this? Can I polish out the scratches? I’m not planning to apply any glaze to the repair. Thanks!
