Just did this today with my vtx and rx. Both were chopped off in a crash. It was definitely nerve wrecking soldering but patience got through it. You saved me $$$. I agree with you, the range of this thing is perfect for what I do and didnt want to spend nor configure for a new vtx or rx. Thanks again and keep up the great work!

Dude, I literally just got this Tinyhawk as my first flyer days ago and last night (after a few crashes) broke my antenna, though just the tip, and wondered how hard it would be to replace when needed, then boom! You put out a video on it!!! Thanks!!!

EXCELLENT video. Great detail, teach by doing. Great emphasis on conductor and ground for understanding of what's needed.

Thanks for the video!! Quick question, I have a TH3 and it has the normal VTX antenna that I have replaced, but I'm having some issues with the range from the transmitter, video will be fine but I feel I get RX loss or warnings earlier than I did with the stock transmitter. I have TX16S and have done the frequency tuning. The only thing left I can see would be to replace the red wire used for transmission. But that wire doesn't seem to have the inner/outer core solder pads like the VTX. Just one solder point/pad.....would you know what I replace this with?

Thanks so much for the video, just had to put antenna on my th freestyle 2. I cut an antenna off of an old wing receiver I had laying around . The hardest part was stripping the shielding . But worked out well . I’m about 3/4 “ long I wanted extra for do overs . But it works fine even with the extra length.

Your link for the antennas has a connector on the end. Should I just cut it off or can I use it somehow as is?
@TweetFPV3 жыл бұрын
I cut the connector off.

Ok so I’m gonna brave this procedure lol. But I do not have any extra antenna wire. And I’m not sure what to order. Any tips or links for the antenna wire. I’ve got 2 quads. This Tinyhawk race 2 and my BetaFPV HX-100. And both antennas broke off at the end. Now I haven’t been able to fly for weeks now and I’m jonesing to fly. Any help or tips is much appreciated

I cut my antenna by accident when removing a zip tie. I'm planning on putting an XM+ to my Tinyhawk II Freestyle and since it's already broken, can I just remove the old antenna or does it need to be attached, even if it's not in use?
@TweetFPV3 жыл бұрын
You could probably remove it but the radiated rf energy from the on board tx is still going to need to go somewhere. I would leave it on and just tuck it away somewhere.

Nice fix it video! 👍 😎 Yeah, just looking at that weird proprietary board tells me No Way I'm ever buying this! 😩 Proprietary parts are just not a great way to go! It gives us NO CHOICES! That board burns up, you have to buy a new one of exactly that board only! Pretty much every other product on the market uses a standard whoop type AIO flight controller / ESC board. So, we have choices of pretty much anything out there! Plus, this one's only got 5 amp ESC's! Standard now is 12 - 13 amp, and new AIO BOARD are 20 and even 30 amp... Yup, still AIO and standard whoop size. Completely interchangeable! So many much better choices out there than this proprietary, unique product with old technology. Just think back and remember how many issues we've already had with AIO 5 amp boards in general... 🤔 IMO, there's simply no reason to go back in time and buy a product with 5 amp ESC's when everything else is 12 amp or much more. Especially when a True Toothpick, using 65mm props, will run circles around this, without a doubt... And come with at least 12 amp ESC's. And, for the same price!

TweetFPV I’m still inoperable on my TinyHawk. I’m gonna try to resolder the antenna again but if that doesn’t fix it I give up lol

Does this also work with the vTX wire? I noticed it had a metal thing in the middle of the wire, and my wire broke right at the top of that metal piece. I almost cried cause the video just died and it made it unflyable

Yep same idea. Different antenna length.

Like the video man. My antenna also broke off on my Tinyhawk race 2. Before putting a new one on I would like to figure out a better way to protect it. Any ideas?

Zip tie to the side of the canopy and some heat shrink to cover it and hold it to the zip tie.
@pipotron16374 жыл бұрын
I had the same issue, but didn’t waste my time to replace the antenna of this crappy RX. I’ve unsoldered it and soldered an XM+. No rxloss anymore.
