im new on this electronical thing, it cloud over on my head on 4:44 you check your transistor and it doesnt have current on the other side and you says it is work properly and when you test on the board the transistor showing current from the both side and you said that IT IS the problem. Hi. I don't know much... But as far as I know a multimeter in Diode mode - red probe on the base, black probe on the emitter - should give a reading above 0 (typically 150+) Same goes for red probe on base and black probe on collector. And if the probe polarities are reversed .. then the there should no reading (ie: 1 on the multimeter) U got reading both from Base to emitter and to collector. Yet u said that the transistor is bad. Can I know why ??

The emitter should read at least 9 over the collector when the red probe is on the base...

On touching the terminals of the DMM on the two sides of the resistor you will find te equivalent resistance across it not the actual resistance of the resistor. To find the actual resistance of the resistor use colour code method. Same goes for the diode also. It is unwise to check components like that when they are attached as a part of circuit in the PCB. But video is good.:)

There is no need to discharge the battery, just switch it off and no current will flow through the circuit....to discharge the orange capacitors, you short (connect together) their two lead points with a screw driver..

I have tried to repair these bats for last two years but not 100% successful. Better to buy a new one for 130 instead of wasting time on this. This is the age of Use and Throw and time is very valuable. The age of repairing small electronic items has gone. You will never earn a good amount by repairing small items like this. If you have nothing else to do then it is ok. After much research I have found that dust and moisture reduces the spark by leakage current. You just dismantle the net portion and wash all parts with soap and water and dry it thoroughly. This will increase the spark greatly, like the original.

My friend brought one of these mosquito bats locally and it wasn't working from the start...he took it back but the seller refused to take it saying there is no warranty/guarantee for it....your bat should last at least 3-5 years easy until moisture corrosion becomes any problem; just keep it clean by brushing it occasionally....once you know how and you can get parts locally, repairing this only takes like 10-15 minutes and your bat is ok for many months..

main problem is using substandard and under spec parts for the circuits in these Chinese product, so if you buy genuine parts which is specified for the current and voltage rating for the circuit, they should last for years if not physically damaged.

The pleasure one gets out of repairing defective devices cannot be compared with money because I was also in that line. But as you age, your vision becomes weak and it becomes headache to continue this hobby. Cheap high voltage devices break down frequently due to insulation leakage and cheap batteries. However youtube videos like these are informative, even though not practicable.
