I've used window screen instead of the fiber glass tape with the Shoe Goo. I just repaired a crack in the front of my Sport Truck with Shoe Goo and duct tape. Sometimes use what you have and be creative. Great video. 👍

First I'd like to thank you for the video! Ive been using fiberglass drywall tape with shoegoo or e6000 for s few years now. I do the entire underside after paint dries with basher bodies where weight isnt a matter of winning a race. But i hadnt heard about using rock tape! Im going to order some IMMEDIATELY! Great tips and vidz! Thank you so much!

Thank you for the comment and support! The rock shield has been a huge help and discovery and I have a fellow racer to thank for that information. Just remember to order the thicker version. The thinner ones available can still work too but may require you to double it up in that specific area of use. Thank you again!

Mark, I certainly would if I still had a recommended place to purchase. The last website I used no longer sells the one I liked. I now pick mine up from a local parts store (Oreilly's). They usually have them in rolls. If you do find something online, just be careful and pay attention to the thickness. I have gotten some that was a bit too thin and I had to double up. I want mine to be at least .020 thick. I hope this is still helpful. Thank you for the support

@@markmalcolmdunthorne-holme7653 absolutely, the hardest part is finding the right kind and thickness. I usually like to use .020" (.5 mm)

Thats a good question. E6000 is another similar product though I'm unsure of its availability out of the US.

I just cut a body and accidently cut into a fender The body hasn't even been painted yet was cutting it out I was gonna use some tire glue and a tooth pick and apply only where the cut is it's half an inch or should I paint body then add mesh tape and shoe goo I used to use tin tape or whatever hvac guys use for ac and heat duct connections tape

I would personally paint it first. However, you will need to let the body sit and cure after painting for a few days before using the shoe-goo. If you do it too soon it could react and smear the paint.

Great question. It really depends on how big it is. I have repaired some holes using the rock shield I talked about in this video. Putting a layer on the outside and inside of the body to cover it. I've done that If I had to move body post holes a few times actually.
