Thank you. We had a small leak in a waterline for our washing machine that we didn't notice until it was too late. That's taken care of, but now we have a bulge in our hallway. I've had floor issues in the past, but those were in stick built homes, not a manufactured as we're in now. It looks like the hardest part for me will be taking up the current flooring (lvp) without damaging it so I can take care of the repair.

Pop a hole so you can measure from joist to joist, measure from joist to joist, mark the edge of each joist, cut a piece of plywood to fit, mark edges of your piece lined up on your marks, cut marked edges, cut 2x4s for side blocking half on old half on new, cut 2x4s for blocking to existing joists, screw 2x4s in, screw plywood to 2x's. You should always put blocking in from joist to joist never just from old plywood to new plywood. It doesnt seem good to screw through the old mobile home floors, just let it sit on the blocking or use glue When you encounter glue on the joists cut a bunch of lines with sawzall or skillsaw like an inch or two apart, and it chips out easier
@garyc12213 күн бұрын
Blocking yes but cut the plywood to centre if joists, far more support that way. Also, screw it down or it will definitely squeak.

Who would you recommend to find out why you have a soft spot? Our home is only 5 yrs old and we have soft spots not close to water. A contractor or maybe a home inspector?
@OurTopPinLife Жыл бұрын
So, our spots were mostly caused by our ac ducts leaking. They are under the house, and had huge holes in them in some spots. The ducts would push air and moisture under the house, causing the floors to become soft. Because that was our experience, my first suggestion would be to check all the duct work. Make sure nothing it leaking. If that looks good, I would call a contractor out and just have them double check.
