Well done on that fix. I also would have been stressed. I am not at all good with glueing stuff to boats. I can’t seem to get the wait time for the glue right

Good to see her back ship shape and Bristol fashion again 👍 Looking forward to seeing you all out on the water.

Great details on the repairs. Thanks for sharing how you did this. Trailering a fully inflatable is always a big risk, so much debris on the road and the tiniest sharp stone will go straight thru

Bloody good job buddy! I don’t think that’s going anywhere! Although- if I may make just one suggestion (this is the model maker in me- sorry!) it is maybe for absolute peace of mind- perhaps put a reinforcing patch on the inside where the floor panel meets the tube. On the back of where you did the main repair, if you get me. Checking of course you can still fit the front floor board. Keep up the good work buddy 👍
@Budgee1978 ай бұрын
Wow that would be so hard to try and fit a patch in there! I was stressed out enough doing the first patch, I’d have a meltdown trying to put another patch on the inside😮💨 If it fails again I’ll just buy a new boat. It will be interesting for everyone to see if it does hold up or not. If it hold up then it might inspire other people to have a go themselves instead of innings boat that could potentially be salvaged! Also I wanted to test myself to see if I could do it, I’m usually frank spencer when it comes to DIY😂

@@Budgee197I know it would be a ball ache but it might be worth it. I suspect it may of failed due in part to the constant pull caused by the inflated keel squeezed under the floor board so may be worth reinforcing? Up to you lol 😜

That patch will last for years mate great job

Careful preparation is key, thats a professional repair well done
@Budgee1978 ай бұрын
Don’t know about professional 😂 That’s what you can do when there’s no other option. A new boat would have been nice but the fix was a good video for my channel. It might help someone out too!!

Dont leave the tubes pressurised when not in the water as in the hot weather they will split the seams with expansion

Prefect weather to get it all sorted. Back on the sea in no time 👍

@Budgee197 Would you be able to tell me what is the cheapest way to store a Honwave T40 in Poole? I bought a Honwave today, but I live in Bristol and I wanted to store it in Poole since I will only be using it there. I don't have a trailer, I'll keep it in the bag.
@Budgee1977 ай бұрын
Your best bet, if you don’t have a trailer is to keep it at home. That won’t cost anything and you have more security if it’s at your home address. To be honest I wouldn’t know about storage fees or mooring costs because I keep my boat on a trailer in my rented garage, 5 minutes from my house in Reading. If you’re persistent on storing it at Poole then maybe a self storage unit close to the water would be a good idea, they have 24/7 security too. Hope that helps and thanks for supporting my channel!😁

Ps well done for your persistence but poss next time get a hot air gun and heat up and peel back that rubber keel band.and put your patch in and restick the rubber after

What glue do you use in the repair?
@Budgee1977 ай бұрын
The glue is a 2 part pvc glue from a company called rib store. www.ribstore.co.uk/products/pvc-rib-repair-2-part-adhesive-glue
