How to replace a cabin filter on a Honda Civic 1995-2000

How to replace a cabin filter in a Honda Civic, great job for the DIYer. These sort of jobs are great , when you’re starting out fixing cars. Mke sure you order the correct filter,cars with a/c are different size to those without.

Not sure offhand, but this is one for a/c, there is a difference in size to the none a/c model.

@@drivewaydiyer6504 well, mine was the same procedure to do. Only has to take the entire glovebox off Remove the metal bar, and then slide it out from underneath the airbox. Found a couple of vintage leaves in there, might call the museum.. Was expecting a mouse family to come out and protest, but no. Civic is from 1995, has 75000 miles on it British built, 1.6i mb1. Cracking little car, former old lady 92 years old, same owner

Duke A Man you may just need to recharge your ac if it still blows air fine but it’s not cold.... signs of a dirty filter are smell and air restriction

I was wondering the samething. I just changed my evaporator and it's legit inside the box this guy pulled the filter out of and I did not have a filter in mine at all. My 97 EX Civic didn't have one. I may go double check but I'm like 99% sure mine didn't have one. And I DO have A/C

My glove box plastic compartment is extremly hard and flexing it seems not the way to go to dismount it from the main dashboard. It's so hard that I am worried to break it if I use too force. Could you confirm that all this force is required to flex it enought to make it goes outside its rails? THS PS: sorry for bad english.

Just for info. The correct way to dismount the glove box is to unscrew two screw (one for each side) placed under the glovebox itself. You can access the two screws only by keeping the glovebox closed and can be seen easily. Don't worry, it will not fall down. Then open the glovebox and move it outside its rails. Very easy. The re-assembling is easy as the dismantling.
