Dunno about RTV under the cam collar. Cam journals are machined to a very tight spec with your bearings. If you put ANYTHING in between that it will change the clearance. But I'm no mechanic 😅 Sweet vid.

Thanks! I’m not a professional mechanic, I just learnt through practice and also KZbin lol. Yes it’s my first 3000, but mechanically it’s just like most other cars so it’s pretty straightforward 👍

I admire your extra efforts to be mechanically responsible, but just tucking a prybar in between cam gear is enough to remove bolt, extra work means more time, and more cost. Save your customers money, and they will be happy.

Why didn't you install the new camshaft seal before you put the camshaft retaining cap back on? Why did you tighten the two cap bolts and install the cam seal next? You wouldn't even need a hammer and that DIY PVC tool if you had installed the seal before tightening the cap bolts.

Wait y didn't you install the seal first and then torque it?

You can do it either way, but it's better to press the seal in with the cap already tightened down.
