98 z71 I’m working on has the same code 200k miles on it. Already replaced crank shaft sensor. About to do cam shaft sensor. After that it’s timing chain time.

it may be your timing chain. But my distributor got loose and turned and caused it to be off time making the code come up. Make sure your timing is within spec.

Okay, I did crank shaft sensor and it had cracks in it, although it smoothed out a lot, it still popped the code. So I will check out your other video. Appreciate the info

If you have a timing light that would probably work best. I didn’t at the time but it worked great. Still haven’t had an issue since

I replaced mine but I rotated it past the sensor so I had to go back around one more rotation to get the other sensor out and after I got it all back together it won’t start now. Any idea why? It wants to

I didn't have any symptoms that I noticed anyway, other than the engine light being on.

I would try and verify the timing. In the pinned video in the comments, I Found my distributor had turned over time causing that issue

Check timing chain. Probably jumped a tooth. Or wire short

Ckp relearn crank shaft the distributor has to be in spec between+2 and -1

Have you done a timing chain replacement yet? Just did mine a few days ago and now ive got an oil leak at the pan and time chain cover. I guess i didnt get a good seal. Now ive got to completlety take it apart again sigh.

I'm going thru the same soup right now. I am gonna assume the Cicom made cover is the issue or the leak actually seems to be the crank sensor itself and that does make sense if the sensor is put back in a new cover that O ring seems to be the issue as well as the 1345 code is still on right now. I just got new AC DELCO sensors on Amazon 60 bucks for both sensors. So I am gonna replace the crank sensor first check the leak. If the code is still on I will move on to the cam sensor too then back to the leak if it is still leaking. It appears the pan gasket has been leaking for some time now. It seems all of these trucks get the pan gasket leaks. This customers truck had the engine replaced some time ago so I was suspecting the pan gasket itself to be leaking and this leak was not there before I started the job but who knows what is going on. I am suspecting the sensor itself at this point. The customer said the sensor was replaced about 2-3 years ago so again who knows with all the Chicom auto parts on the market. Everything seems to be made out of total bullshit these days.

For me it ended up being my distributor moved out of time. Once I resolved that my code went away. The video for that process is linked in the pinned comment

It turned out not to be the camshaft sensor. My distributor timing needed to be adjusted. I did that in the video “Mason does a tuneup on the suburban”

If the sensor is bad your vehicle will die when sitting at a red light and sometimes it won’t start right away you have to try a few times to get it to start then it will die at a light so you have to sit in neutral and keep on the gas a little

@@lorenzobean9116 My bad I thought this was a different video we have up about a timing chain. The timing chain wasn't the issue here all the problem was my distributor had moved. so i retimed it and the light went away. The video, where I do that, is linked in the comments if you wanna check that out if you still get the problem.

I worked as a mechanic on different equipment for better than 30 yrs and never came across this code. I have an intermittent Service engine soon light appear every few days with the P1345 code. My cam retard was almost at zero @ 500 or so rpm. I think it needs to be checked @ 1000 rpm It runs a little low when I don't rev it up. My question is what did you find was the fix. Seems you have an immediate light when you operate your vehicle. My mil light comes sometimes when I started it cold on the next day. IF it was wear and bad enough, I guess the code would be quicker in reappearing. thanks, Me. Did you make a follow up video on this? This is a good video.

The light will stay on until you plug the scanner in and reset the code.
