Big job for a DIYer. Anyway, thanks for sharing your video.

Hi buddy, yup this is more advanced compared to other repairs. But if you follow my vid step by step a DIY-er can do it. If not at least you got the knowledge to know what a mechanic does when they change out a cooling coil.

Changed the cooling coil 2 years ago for my Gen2... & last week the compressor just died... Even if it is turned on, the magnetic clutch plate is not engaging... Any advice for me?
@forgedforspeed Жыл бұрын
Hi buddy, could be malfunctioned magnetic clutch which you can just change the clutch assembly. Don’t need to change whole compressor. I would suggest to check if there is gas first, if yes then check the magnetic clutch.

@@forgedforspeed thank u for the prompt response... Will check as u advice... What does it means if there is gas/no gas?

If there is no air cond gas (R134a) in the system due to a leak. It may also cause the compressor to not kick in.

@@forgedforspeed thank you... Really helps... Indeed it was the gas missing... I topup the gas for the mean time, any suggestion on how to detect the leak? The pomen suggest maybe it is the cooling coil again😅... (used for 2 years only, is that normal?)

Hi buddy, glad I could help. I would suggest to do this, top up gas like you did is the correct first step. Now the air cond gas R134a has a funky/unique smell, therefore if the cooling coil is leaking, you can smell the gas in the car. Try to smell the air coming out from the vents in the morning first time you turn on the air cond in the day. You may be able to pick up the smell of the air cond gas. Another usual leak is the flexible air cond hose that connects the compressor to the condenser. It has a heat shield over it. Personally I doubt it is the coil coil that leaked. My cooling coil lasted 18 years with 250,000km 😆. Message me on instagram “forged for speed” for easier chat.

Wonderful video. Thanks for the DIY walkthrough. Gen2 I really love this car. Is it possible to have insights on the excellent quality coil spring for heavy people and the good quality suspension? Not racing just something that can hold 400 KG.😂😂😂 Thank you for your time and effort.

Hi buddy, I am not an expert in coil springs. Better to ask the suspension dealers who know their products better. I feel you will be able to find something strong enough but your car will ride very very terribly 😂

Nice video, Just had my air con cleaned after 16 years. May I ask you a question? The standard air cleaner box of the Gen 2, there's 4 screws holding the cover right? The bottom screw mounting always becomes big and unable to grip the screw. I've changed it before and still happens. Will this be a problem whereby dust can enter from the bottom or will the other 3 screws be enough for the box to be dust proof? Thinking of changing the whole thing to open pod filter.

Hi buddy, I am sorry I can’t follow coz there are too many screws around. Ideally you would want to have every screw to be tight. However if it is just one screw out of many others there should be enough strength to hold to cover in place. I won’t be too worried about.
