If my water pressure is 140 at my outside faucets what pressure should I put in the expansion tank?

I'm not a plumber. But is your outside faucet before or after the pressure reducing valve for your home?

@@sjm1341 It's before...I actually had a bad gauge and it read 140 no matter what

You should start installing a reduce pressure valve at the meter since your home water pressure shouldn`t be more than 80 psi. and them you can take the right pressure to refill your expansion tank.

You should have used a rag when you was tight the tank up to prevent damage.. also it will not explode

Your reading of your water pressure gauge is wrong ,your presion was 44.5 pounds and you read 42pounds ,each line in the gauge is equal to 2 pounds so 42 is 44.

That aint 42. It was between 40 and 60 which makes it 50 psi.

Dude a water heater is fairly simple. You were able to do that you can do a water heater. Based on the video your water heater plumbing looks uncomplicated, that's the hardest part. Electric connection is easy

That water pressure was 50 psi not 42psi
