I have the yard machines version of the snowblower. Originally mine didn't have the extended dipstick tube. It was the short dipstick with the tiny threaded cap. I wonder if Craftsman just ordered the engine that way. I installed the extended dipstick tube that I borrowed from a 5 horse Tecumseh that was on a Toro 521.

Great video , I like that you show what we all struggle with . A lot of people do not know that there is much to maintain . Rust is the biggest fight when it come to snow blowers .

Normally the head bolts by the muffler are always loose and need re torque, due to heat and cooling more than the others

Arch just to be clear the bolt i use has a thread outside diameter of 3/8" since the inside diameter of the fuel line is 1/4" the hex head part of the bolt is 5/16" just in case anyone thinks the threads are 5/16" outside diameter. Additionally if it is a Techumseh the proper fuel line is 1/32" smaller on OD than the B&S fuel line and it makes a big difference on getting it through without a struggle. Good video and thanks for the shout out. There are a few others i have seen do this and i think donyboy73 may have been the first.

I have a question @ 5:59. As the carburetor is being removed the primer line and fuel line are closest to us but on the other side of where the carburetor was mounted there's a short black line. Would someone please tell me what that line is for? TIA

On this carb, the primer line wraps around the front of the bowl and connects on the left of the carb..Just two lines!
