PERFECT... ordered the parts, followed your steps, camera was replaced and working. For anyone reading this, you will need to order the "tools" and especially the "replacement plugs" to re-attached the trunk liner/carpet. Also, camera on Amazon gives a "fish-eye" view; much wider field of view than with the camera that came with the car.

Excellent video and parts recommendation. I'm not as handy as you and didn't want to by the tools, so I looked for a pro to install it. In my experience, most autoshops wouldn't install aftermarket equipment because they're scared of it affecting the car's safety systems. So I went to a car stereo installer who did it for less than 1 hour labor, $105. Everything turned out great!

Thanks for the guidance! Very helpful. A couple of things I ran into... make sure you separate the head of the plastic pins. I paused the video before you explained that step. Also, the 2017 Accord has two more clips in the middle on the chrome piece. So, it took a little more prying.

Thank you sir I followed this vid to a T and got it done, fixed my issue. The only trouble I ran into was dropping one of my 10mm socket down into the trunk crevice where the bolt was, can’t seem to get it out now 😅. Hopefully not a big issue

@@OCisinthepast760 probably a faulty camera. Is it too late to exchange it? If you go the $40 from amazon, you may want exchange it and see if a new one works. The factory OEM camera is around $275 and I could not find any in stock locally, so I thought I would try the cheap one and it worked so far. For $40 you might get a bad one now and then :(

@@OCisinthepast760 a quick check of the camera connection in the trunk lid might be a good idea as well. It’s unlikely, but possible that you didn’t get a good connection when you installed the new camera.

Good vid, those panel retainer clips will usually come out with your fingernails. not sure about Honda, but the Toyota ones even have a recessed area on top that's just the right size for a fingernail. Once you pop the top, they'll nearly fall out. Toyotas and Hondas are 75% 10mm fasteners and quick clips, lol. EDIT: Also, from all I'm reading and watching, the Dorman 590-440 is the best non-factory option for price/value ($180). EDIT2: Again, not sure about Honda, but I've reused these push fasteners several times over, even on the grill and shroud housing under the hood of my Tundra. In my experience, they're good until they just break. Again, could just be a Toyota thing, I guess.

It’s hard to say, but I would try another camera first. If not, next would be a bad wire connection somewhere. Hope this helps, good luck.

I noticed you said that the image or the new camera wasn't as clear as the OEM camera, just curious on how much of a difference the quality actually is and how close the image is from 1-10 compared to the original camera with 10 being the OEM quality, thank you

Thanks for the video. I have a 2017 accord and the passenger side window goes down but won’t come up when I press the button. It does come up after I either wait a while or hold the switch up for a while. Any ideas on how to repair it?

If both driver side and passenger side switch does the same thing, it’s probably the motor or window regulator. If only 1 switch has the problem, it’s probably the switch.

Question: When you install the camera and feed it through the hole and use the clip on the back up camera, is there suppose to be a latch built in for the camera to latch onto or is the clip suppose to clip onto the metal from the trunk. Just want to make sure I did not break anything off when installing the new one. If you have an email I would like to send you a picture to see if it looks correct. Thanks

The clip on the camera holds it in the metal hole in the trunk. There is no other latch. Hope this helps!

No fuse. The cameras just seem to fail easily.
