Great video tutorial. Replaced the gasket replacement kit with thermocouple and my water heater is backup and running. Thanks.

Thanks to you, my hot water heater is back up and running in just a matter of minutes and a 25 dollar kit from Home Depot. What I like the most is you didn't make it a long video with a bunch of fluff. Straight to the point is the way to go. Thank you Sir!

So thermocline = thermocouple?
@livenotonevil8279 Жыл бұрын
Very detailed. Thanks much. Excellent tips. Not sure how vital this is, but I noticed that my old rubber gasket had a magnet on each side which helped it to stay on the metal shield while sliding the whole assembly into the burner plenum.

Great video! Your tutorial made it super easy to swap out Rheem water heater's thermocouple.

Just changed out the exact part today and hd had kne kit left. Thank you for the video. Pilot light stayed on. Only thing is i cut off the brass fitting that holds the couple tip. Should be fine? Anyway thanks. 👍

The burner access door is stuck to the heater unit, do you have any suggestions to safely pry it off??

This is very helpful. If I called plumber to replace my Rheem thermocouple, what should I expect to pay? I got one quote for $700 which seems outrageous.
@stevepires-theplumberdrumm2612 Жыл бұрын
Thats a ridiculous amount, $200-250 max

I have two and was bid $1200 for two. The thermocouple parts are $11.50

That is what I was quoted for mine too. Looked up how much it is, eyeballed the assembly and asked myself if this is really something that requires a tech. Looked it up online, saw a few videos, and found out that no, you don't need a tech for this. An inebriated monkey could do it. $20 for the kit, and about 20 minutes of my time. Saved $680.

Just what I needed. My orange grommet started to break apart. Can I glue it back together or is it ok if it isn't perfect?

If it still seals its probably good. If not replace it

The thermal couple from HD does not fit my rheem heater😢
@stevepires-theplumberdrumm2612 Жыл бұрын
Did you get the Rheem kit in the video, or just a thermo couple by itself?

What if it still doesn’t stay lit?
@michaelorlando4761 Жыл бұрын
Probably not your thermocouple. Have a tech look at it.

It is not a "coupler". It is a Thermo COUPLE
@stevepires-theplumberdrumm2612 Жыл бұрын
I’ve been a plumber for 25 years, plumbers as well as supply house salesman refer to it both ways, thermo couple or thermo coupler. Either way, we all know what we are referring to. But thanks for your 2 cents.
