100% want to replace the two o-rings on the lines whenever you disconnect them and have the chance. Otherwise you risk putting it all back together and the old ones leak, forcing a very annoying redo. Make sure to coat any new o-rings in some pag oil. Also make sure your new condenser comes with some pag oil inside already, if not then buy some and Google how much it typically holds ( 1-2 oz typically on these small condensers). Is it necessary to also replace the expansion device when you replace compressor and condenser?

yes it is. Denso will not honor your warranty for the compressor if you don't replace the expansion valve

My honda has a hissing noise when not turning the steering wheel. The moment I turn it a bit, the hissing stops. The noise starts about 5 min after turning on my car. Could it be my power steering? or, from what I see, there is a leak somewhere in my AC. Could it be because I didn't use my AC for some time? It's what i'm on right now. Thank you for your video! It helped understand more on how it is built!

i would just replace everything so u dont have to gonin there anymire. if u take the chance to only change condensor and it turns out u also need drier. then u will have to drain reapiar and recharge again. waste of time

If the system leaked you have to replace the receiver drier. Moisture will leak into the system and moisture in an AC system is very bad. He should also have taken a vacuum pump and completely sucked the system clean to make sure there's no water left in it.

I might have missed it, but did you replace the o-rings on your lines? I forgot to replace the rings on my power steering pump and I couldn't get it bled right until I put new o-rings. Might be something to consider.

thanks for video. the headlights, I have same car. use Sylvania headlight Kit. but those headlights have double the yellow haze oxidation that mine did. Oddly, the paint job on the body around the your headlights is pristine (?). I have peeling paint there. that's what I am seeing. but your vehicle is also 3 years older. actually rewatching the video, oxidation in early seconds of video oxidation seems normal. but later on the top view, wowsers, I still scratching my head that the oxidation seems extreme. maybe some regions and parking conditions are worse than others. the camera view is cool, flows well with work and narration this way I think. Also, I presume it already has a leak. Was the existing leak hard to find and if so why? Are there other reasons to replace only the AC condenser? How can a condenser get dented? you mentioned a rock. is that common? I have to take out the condenser to see if its dented right?

My condenser got dented by a chunk of blown up tire that I hit while on the highway. It hit my car exactly in the plastic grill, and impacted the condenser. It didn't leak right then, but it was weakened and eventually leaked at that spot. To find a condenser leak, you can inject some dye, and use a UV light to look for it. Mine had dye in it already, and it was easy to spot just looking through the busted grill. Plus, the sound of hissing freon when I tried to fill it up.

Can you tell me how much you paid for the Parts? My 2006 Honda Accord is Ice Cold on the passenger side, but Barely Cool on the drivers side. A mechanic said all the internal vents work, freon is full, they see a small leak near the Dryer. The Mechanic thinks the Condenser needs to be replaced. 😭

Doesn't work like that. If you have dual zone HVAC then your blend door is stuck open. It couldn't be cold on one side and not the other. If the condenser was leaking you wouldn't have any ac at all.

@@FoolishPrankster no worries, if you were in lake county Ohio I'd help ya but also the condenser is under $100 on rockauto and new refrigerant and seals it comes to about $130. I'm doing this on a customer car today so just watching a few videos to make it a more streamlined process. Been a few years since I've done one of these cars.

Eddie, I have this car and just did this. The battery and holder needed to come out so you can push back the fans/radiator far enough to get the condenser out and back in.

That good video would have been even better if you had pointed out where the hole in the condenser was, because that's the first thing people want to see so they'd know what to look for if they find no pressure in the system and are chasing a leak. So they'd know if they even have to replace the condenser of something else.

I want to replace the condenser but I dont have a Vacuum machine. Can I replace everything, leave the AC off and drive to a local AC repair shop so they can vacuum and refill? Or everything needs to be done without turning on the car

Yes, you can leave ac off and drive to a shop to have them pull vacuum then charge it. Or, what I do is go to Autozone and borrow their vacuum pump for free.

Or go buy a vaccuum pump off Amazon or Harbor Freight for cheap and do it yourself.
