This only helps to know what bolts hold the alternator. It doesn't help how to take it off when you have shit still on your car. They got everything already taken out.

Hi there. I replaced my alternator on my X1 E84 18i. Followed all steps. When i started the car it was idling irregular. Not very bad but noticable. It never did this before

Hi I have an alternator like this I want to connect to my old tractor. But I have no computer on that tractor, so is it enough that I just connect the main wire to battery/starter? Will it still charge? Greetings from Norway

Nobody actually shows you start to finish I don't think any of us have our whole front end already off so you're not really showing us anything that useful.

Alternator test at 1500 mV.... Where is the norm is 50-100mV. Does this translate to a new alternator or testing the diodes for exonomy fix ?
@DanAir7 күн бұрын
It's even easier if you remove the engine first and then you can put it on a bench so you can do it sitting down with a cup of tea in one hand. Might as well have shown us how to remove a new alternator from the box it came in.

It would be nice if you would just say which terminal to disconnect first instead of trying to make us watch another vid to get the info.

In the other video, he recommends removing the Negative (-) cable from the battery first, and then removing the Positive (+) cable second. (This is because the average idiot will allow metal tools, or the positive cable to contact the negatively grounded body, engine, or other metal parts. When this happens, the battery will "short" with high current, which can damage components and/or start a fire, which will most certainly catch YOU on fire, and also the garage that you may be working in, and the fire will spread to the house, thus terminating your entire family.) Note: Use the Reverse Order, when reconnecting battery cables. (Otherwise, you risk killing your neighbor's entire family too.)

If it does a Grrr or whining sound, it’s your alternator pulley, there’s kits to replace them

ok I messed it up. I took a positive down and all electricity of the car was off so it lead me to think that I was all good. So when I changed the alternator I touched the positive and of course there were sparks. Now my battery is draining. How the hell I'm gonna fix this? LOL Any tips on what I should look for?
