Adhesive remover works but takes 5 to 6 applications to completely remove the fishing line cutting was helpful. The heat gun makes this way faster

I just worry about heat distortion or telling people to heat up their paint... but i do hear plenty of people go that route. Cheers!

To take off old use hair dryer to warm badges and they come off very easy..

Hair dryer works well, but you have to be careful to not cause color issues with the heat on the clear coat. But I could see how hair dryer + fishing line might work wonders.

Could you use any fishing line, 20test or below ?

I had 8 lb test in my tackle box and it just broke right away. I would error on the side of heavier gray, but not too heavy you can’t get behind the emblems thanks for stopping by!

What exhaust system do you have? I have a 2019 q5 that I would like to get a little more growl out of.

The car has the factory SQ7 exhaust with the sports resonating kit on it. I think it really makes the car sound great at startup, but after you have a warm engine, it calms down a bit. Thanks for stopping by!

I have one that I am ready to install. I just need to figure out how to take the existing badge plate off.

@@tangentsdaily I just did it this weekend. Left the it on the grill, used the same fishing line method and then cleaned and replaced each letter one at a time

Not yet.. but that is next on my list of things to do. I just got the APR Intake system installed, which I feel much more comfortable with the front bumper trim pieces.
