I'm sure he's assuming you've already gotten past that step, but here's the situation: The most primary symptom of the bad blower motor resistor is that it doesn't work unless the fan speed is switched on HIGH. The reason that it works on high is because the full electric flow can bypass the resistor in order to power the fan at full speed. The resistor steps down the flow, so without it working, the fan can only operate on full speed.

When you are deep up under the dash at around 1:50 in, the lighting isn't good and then you fast forward "as Don just removes" those things that we couldn't see very well, at all.

If the fan works, but certain speeds don't work, that usually indicates a problem with the resistor.

Easier if you have little hands and xray vision! The wire connections do not come apart easily on a 25 year old truck. There is also a restraining cable on the glove box that's a little tricky to remove. I defy anyone to do this without swearing.

Alright I'm stumped, I have replaced my head unit for AC controls, my blower motor and my blower motor resistor. And it still will not work on the high setting. Checked all my fuses and still nothing seemed to fix it. Please help.

+crazyhaloman1a It could be the blower relay actually. Look for that under the hood. If that's not it, some people have trouble with the actual plug behind the switch in the dash. I guess it loosens up over time and doesn't make good contact. Try holding that in place while turning it to high and see what happens. Gary Brown You may want to check the blower motor resistor to see if it is damaged and needs to be repaired. Sometimes the plug into it may heat up and become damaged.
