Can a faulty tailgate module throw Electrical Malfunction along with a bunch of other Malfunctions?

If it was sitting in water. It will show electrical malfunction on the dash. The area it sits is prone to rain water leaking inside from sunroof drains

I found many modules on ebay but the plugs are to the right side instead of in the center kinda are they not compatible?

I had same problem. I cleared fault code with my phone. Shut car off. Locked and unlocked using hey fob. Pressed the button on tailgate to open and it worked.

@@tshepp89 yes it did. Long enough for me to dump the truck as a trade-in... worst vehicle i ever purchased. Big problems non-stop.
