Chris, where is the key way supposed to line up in the transmission? I can’t see any marks. Shop service manual just says “ when reinstalling the prop shaft align the black paint spot on the prop shaft 180° opposite the yellow paint spot on the companion flange. This aligns the side of the prop shaft with the heavy side of the companion flange.” i’m trying to reinstall my driveshaft and I can’t seem to get it to fit leaving enough room for the yoke to clear.

You don't have to remove the C-beam to pull the driveshaft. All you have to do is bend that metal flange piece that is in the way and you can pull the driveshaft out.

What is the name of the part that plugs in to thr transmission, is that the yoke? Do you recommend greaseless u-joints and any preferred brand?
@anglerrem Жыл бұрын
So if ordering the spicer ujoints you recommend on the half shafts what’s the spicer part number for the drive shaft pair ?
@dalemihocik47323 жыл бұрын
I see that you have the transmission supported to keep the front of the driveshaft level but what is holding up the end of it ? Isn't that the job of the differential , but you have it out ? What did I miss ?
@mycorvettelife3 жыл бұрын
The trans is bolted to the C beam. I’m supporting the trans, thus supporting the beam.

Dang, Chris! Wouldn’t that yolk clean up better? 😃😳I saw that you cleaned the half shafts and drive shaft. Bet you’re glad you have that press huh?

Yep, it has paid for itself many times over.

I thought you were selling the c4? why all the new parts & work ?
@jrparker48043 жыл бұрын
Chris is like a hammer who sees a nail! Let’s hit it, lol. He’s a worker and loves working on stuff for content. Driveshaft u-joints aren’t difficult. I think he just wanted to use his hydraulic press in the video 😇
